I rec'd a $75 gift card from VS for Christmas...I was on their site browsing around and looking at their clothes. Anyone wear them? Of course they all look like they're made for 6' tall skinny people and I'm, ummm, not. ;) I didn't know how they fit for more average women.

Thanks

I don't know because I am 5' 11" and have always been able to wear the jeans because they come in tall sizes. I usually get the turtleneck sweaters and jeans and they always seem to be ok. I don't know if you can return items at the store or not. Their pjs are good though! Not the typical VS stuff, but the comfy 2 piece ones are good.

I have gotten a few things from there, and I am 5'1". I've gotten jeans, a sweater, a skirt, and pajamas. The jeans are actually a little baggy on me, and I am on the high end of normal weight, so they are not made for super skinny people.

Unfortunately you cannot return the clothes to the store, you have to send it back. I am 6'0 and the clothes fit pretty good. If you are worried about the clothes being fitted, just read to make sure that it isnt made with alot of spandex....that seems to work for me! Have fun shopping!

VS clothes look great on women of all sizes. I have friends of every shape and size that wear VS clothing and look fine. They're good quality too. Also, VS has great customer service, if you have any problems. :)

I have some of their clothing (and will only wear their unmentionables) and agree with the OP's. Not that anyone has asked, but IMO, VS's main mistake, is the way they showcase their clothing in their catalogs and website.

I too can look like I have cleavage up to my nostrils if I wear one of their bras, but I choose not to dress like that. It leads me to believe that their magazines are meant more for men to look at, than for women to actually shop out of. I wonder how many women look at the ads and think that their clothing is too provocative, without realizing that it looks fine without the massive padding?

And what's up with the evil model? The dark-haired one who looks like she's going to jump out of the pages and smack you in the face? If I tried that look on my DH, he'd go running for the hills! Again, that "sultry" look must be for the men.

Okay, I'm rambling. Just some thoughts for the day...

Oh, I believe you. My DH does the same thing. The articles (of clothing) are very small, but he reads it from cover to cover.

And don't call me Shirley. Sorry... had to say it.

I've bought from them before. The quality is average, and the clothes don't fit like they show in their catalog. I've ordered shirts from them before, and they were way more baggy than showcased in their catalog. Now it could be the huge breasts the model had, I don't know. But it's a little misleading! The sizes run big, so be sure to use their measurement guide.

I bought a long suede skirt online from them and love it. I'm 5'6 and normally a size 6 or 8--ordered the 8, and it fits perfectly! :)

I order stuff from there...mostly the "trendy top" section. What I have found is that they are usually on the short side, I am almost 5'10" and have a long torso, though. I know that if I can see the model's stomach, it's going to be a crop top on me! As far as the fit, most of it runs small to size in my opinion. I usually try on larges when I shop in stores, since I wear a 12, but a lot of times I can get away with a medium from VS. Then again, I'm NOT blessed in the bosom department. It's usually a gamble with ordering for me.

Do you mean that you have the clothing in your local Victoria's Secret stores? If so, we don't here in Houston.

I wish they would put the clothing inside of the stores though. Seems it would make more business sense, considering that the stores are usually waaaay big, with teeny little items in them, that could probably be condensed down to one side of the store.

No...sorry. I meant I usually try on a large first when I shop, and go from there. The VS here carries some of the spa wear, but not the clothing.

I am 5'4", and I love VS clothing. And, I am not super skinny...generally a size 10/Medium. And to prove that you do not need to be 6' tall to wear VS, my best friend is only 4'11", and she wears it all the time. Granted, she wears a size 0 (makes me sick! lol), but she is definitely NOT tall! :rotfl:
