Clothes Line Question

I think the reason they dont want clothes lines is because people will put nails in trees to hang the rope from. We always put one up with no problems.I dont hang out our green drawls because kids start to hang around thinking the circus is in town!

When we camp, everyone KNOWS THE CIRCUS HAS ARRIVED! I don't have to worry about my drawls...I want everyone to see 'em!:rotfl2:

As another poster said, many campgrounds restrict using clothes lines because they are concerned about people driving nails into trees.

Also, many campgrounds do not want you even tying rope around trees. Clotheslines may be allowed, but you are supposed to tie them to your camper / vehicles.

And... many campgrounds' clothesline rules really are for seasonal campers, to help prevent the campground from looking too redneck-ish (don't worry, I are one). Weekend campers usually are allowed to have clotheslines.

I don't know of any specific rules regarding clotheslines at Fort Wilderness.

Green underwear, huh?

I avoid hurting the trees while drying my clothes. I made a PVC "Solar clothes dryer." It is a square with ropes going back and forth across it for hanging. It can be attached to the back of the motorhome. It works and can even fold up against the back of the moho when not using it. Now to find some lime green undies.

Can you send me a pic of that? I was puttering around Lowe's trying to put together a plan for a PVC set-up that would mount to the rear bumber of the TT. I think I figured it out, but never got it done.

Our stinky slinky is stored in the rear bumper of our trailer.....I think I'll keep the clothes away from there. Wouldn't want that aroma following me around for a week.
