We are taking our DD to meet Mickey Mouse at the end of April for 1 week. When we go she will be 6 months old! :yay: My DW, who plans out everything. is concerned about what to bring for our little one. She's breastfed, so that's not an issue - but we haven't seen the sun since she was born and want to keep her protected but not too warm either.

Anyone out there already go thru this or might be able to help?? :)

Sunscreen is safe on children 6 months and older. My kids wore it earlier than that and they are fine. Wide brim hat is wise on babies. Have Fun! S

Bring some light breathable pants and long sleeve shirt and a wide brimmed hat. That way she can be covered, but it will be light enough that she won't overheat. Think white or light colors, they are cooler.

I took my daughter at 4 months old. Basically you keep them out of the sun. She needs a stroller that will shade the baby from the sun. Especially if you are watching parades, etc.....we took our car seat and the stroller attachment.....

I took my baby in the pool - hated it!

She was more happy just sitting around with bare feet and a summer dress - it wasn't an issue at all. She loved being in the warmth!

I think babies can start wearing sunscreen at 6 months. I asked my pharmacist to recomend a safe one. We also used a stroller with a huge sunshade and extra netting with SPF to cover the stroller.

Swim shirts and big bucket hats also kept our son protected from the sun.
