Could you tell me whether I need to take smarter clothes for eating out in the evenings? I have gathered that dress is ultra casual and for comfort but do most people go into restaurants in the same clothes that they have been in all day? We are only in WDW for 1 week so if there is no need to change as in say European holidays where it is expected that will save valuble time. We are staying in the FW cabins so going back to change may take longer than in some other resorts. We intend to go back and rest in the afternoons as we are going in mid-July
TIA
Shirley:)

Hi Shirley. I remember our first trip to Florida as a family a few years back - took my bestest two summer frocks to wear in the eveings - and didn't need to! of course I did and the best thing about florida is how amazingly relaxed everyone is. There are only a handful of restaurants where more formal attire is expected, but on the norm whatever you wear is acceptable.

For me, it's a personal thing - when I'm on holidy and we go out in the evening I prefer to wear something different to what I've been wearing all day . . . . but when in WDW you can often by out ALL day and then dash into a restaurant/diner for dinner after the parks.

Don't worry - my 'Florida' sundresses are what I take:p, as well as shorts/t-shirts for evenings as well.

Just be comfortable:D :pinkbounc

Hi Shirley, Shirley here :D
Casual is the key word and you will see people in their park gear although like Annie, I prefer to freshen up after a day at the parks and change, but never too dressy - I too took clothes the first time I went that I never wore as they'd have been too smart.

we rarely went back to our hotel room between parks and eating - we were too busy doing other things, so we just ate in our park clothes most days - I did find keeping a change of shoes and a sweatshirt in the car was a bonus - new shoes seemed to revive flagging feet, and the a/c can be very cold if you are in shorts/t-shirts.

Hi Shirley, I think a lot depends on where you plan to eat, in July you may well appreciate a quick change before going out IF you're planning another venue (i.e DTD or one of the other hotels) if you're already in the parks I think you might as well stay in the park. In the parks you'll find the majority of people will be wearing what they have been in all day, out side of the parks you'll find most will have changed but it's still very casual attire ( just a little fresher LOL)
