Can someone who has been advise? I was thinking I could get away with those 3/4 length trousers and have a fleece wrapped around me for wearing at night?

I would love to simply walk about in shorts and t-shirt but I suspect it might get a bit cold at night.....

Any hints would be handy! :thumbsup2

We have this same question. Im not sure what to pack. Guess well have to wait and get the extended forcast.

We hope a light jacket will be enough at nite.

Im hoping it will be nice enough to swim in the ocean.

Im taking a fleece to wear at night which should hopefully be enough. When Ive been at the start of Dec in the eves its been a little chilly but not really cold and Im hoping it wont be much cooler than that.

I've got my stuff out already and I'm taking a bit of everything including jeans, jumpers, hat and gloves just in case.

We have also been in early December and have had mixed weather. We never had to wear a coat but needed a fleece and long trousers in the evening.

I saw this subject and hope you don't mind that I comment.

Weather over the Holidays can go from one extreme to the other. Definitely bring jeans and layers to wear. We've done well with having both a sweatshirt and a fleece jacket. Sometimes you need one or the other, sometimes you need both. We also have needed gloves and hats for warmth. Naturally, you have to think of your feet so be sure to pack socks and sneakers.

Better to bring it than have to pay $$$$ to buy them at the parks. Have a fantastic time!!!

Im afraid I agree with webmasterRegina..

you need layers and to be prepared. When we were there over christmas it was absolutely freezing... frost on the ground in the morning.. and bright sunshine..shorts weather in the afternoons.. but up to about 11am and after about 4 it was really cold..
way too cold to swim when we were there... but it was a freaky year... so perhaps Im being unrealistic..

It is wonderful time to visit though... all the decorations and cool stuff.. and of course its great weather for park touring...

Last time we went at Christmas 3/4 trousers & fleece were my staple wardrobe!! It was cooler than the other years we had been. We did manage to still get a few days by the pool. This year we are packing trousers / shorts & coat each.

Hava a great holiday :cheer2:

hi

I am going 1st dec and have bought a long thick cardi from m&s, we have been at christmas and it has been freezing so I am taking a couple of shorts, 3/4 trousers, long skirts and fleeces. I am banking on it being really cold at night so take what you would wear if out at night in the uk. You never know we might be pleasantly suprised but have to say make sure you pack your gloves.

Anyway its a bona fida reason to shop watch out premium outlets plus lake buena vista here we come!

I have some Rohan trousers that convert in seconds from full length to three quarters to shorts. Brilliant for winter in Florida. It can get cold in the evenings so good idea to have something windproof as well as a fleece.

When we went at Christmas it was so cold the frost lasted most of the day and we needed about 6 or 7 layers for being outside. Standing watching the parades was absolutely freezing.

Take coats - not just fleeces - warm jumpers, scarves, gloves, thick socks and sturdy shoes. Also take an umbrella as getting wet when it's cold is miserable. You can take shorts and T shirts just in case it gets warm.

As stated above, it was far too cold to swim or go on the water rides.

I agree with gilld. Although we haven't been at Christmas we have been several times the first two weeks in Dec and there have been days when we have put on coats hats and gloves. It can get really cold, especially at World Showcase if there is a cold breeze! Hope that you have a great time! :goodvibes

Thanks for the info folks - I think I've got somre idea now of what to take. Really looking forward to it all. :cool1:

On Christmas day in 1999, there are photos of me in 2 fleeces, a fleecs hat and scarf and my gloves and I remember still being cold. :cold:

Last December we found it quite chilly in the mornings, but it tended to warm up a little around the middle of the day - certainly warm enough for shorts and tshirts. Although a fleese or sweatshirt was needed first thing until it warmed up :)

As soon as the sun started to go down the temperature followed. Most evenings we needed jeans and at least a sweatshirt. Some evenings we need a coat as well!

A little of everything to cover most weather situations seems to be best. After all, you can always remove layers! I do remember sitting on the beach area at Discovery Cove with a smoothie in January in my cossie, so its not always cold!

I was at Epcot for New Year's Eve 2000/2001.

During the afternoon the air temperature was cold but it felt warm in the bright sun. When the sun set, the temperature plummeted. By 8 pm, the temperature had dropped below zero. People were buying blankets from the Mexico Pavillion. Others were walking around with 'Mickey' gloves which were the only one left unsold.

We were so cold, we had to abandon the park before 11pm. We heard the fireworks from our bed at Boardwalk Inn, but were so chilled to the bone we couldn't even get up to go to the window (which had a view of the fireworks).

When we arrived back, 48 hours later, Gatwick was warmer than Orlando.

Take layers.

We went last year 26/12/05 until 3/1/06. I swam and sunbathed in the villa pool one day and was in shorts with fleece + t shirt in am, just shorts and t shirt from 11 am to 4pm and then back again with fleece after sun down. I also wore capri type pants in evening. I did take hat and gloves in case but did not need them even when at EPCOT over NYE.
You can roll up shorts and 3/4 trousers in your bag and gloves and hat don't take up much room.
We went to KSC one day and sat eating an ice-cream with the sky shining so blue and felt the vitamin D going in :)

This is our first winter trip. Living in cleveland, we are used to the snow. Im hoping it will feel warm to us.
