Closing Questions

Hello all,

I have some closing questions as this is our first contract.

1. Do I have to sign AND print closing docs or can I submit via docusign (title company did not specify, however asked that all parties log into their separate docusign accounts to sign documents, but I received an overnight label)

2. I would like to wait until seller submits closing docs before I wire the money. Is this common? I did not ask for this in the negotiation process so I was wondering if I was able to ask for this.

The title company you are using should be able to answer all of those questions. I'll give you my experience when I was buying resale dvc.

1. I signed all my resale purchase documents using DocuSign and didn't send back any physical documents. This might vary depending on the title company you are using and any state requirements where you live.

2. I told the title company to tell me when they received the sellers documents and I would wire the money. The title company didn't have any problem doing that for us and acted like it was a normal request they get.

1. It will depend on the title company. I had to send my closing docs out via FedEx for my contract using Magic Vacation Title. Another thing that irritated me about that company! My contracts with Mason were completed with Docusign.

2. I also waited to wire my balance. Your title company agent can give you an idea of when the seller will be returning their docs. Some sellers take ages to return... I was fine wiring my funds after my agent tracked the docs’ arrival, so I wouldn’t hold up the closing.

These both were very helpful!
We were able to sign via DocuSign and I also asked to be notified when sellers would return documents. They signed the contract pretty fast so hoping so same speed!!
