Closing Questions

I am making a trip to WDW in two weeks to join DVC. I was told that all I would need for closing is a drivers license and the downpayment (either a credit card or a check with my home address on it).

Is that really all that I'll need?
Do they make a financing decision right on the spot?
How long does a closing take?
Where do they usually give you the free lunch?
I've seen Spoodles posted but could I do ESPN or the brew pub?
Does anyone think they will let me, DW, and 18 month old DD into EPCOT (for free or at some discount)?

Also, I will be using my newly acquired points for my three-night stay at VWL.
Has anyone had any experience/problems converting a cash reservation to points?
Do I do this at VWL when I check in?

I did it over the phone. I used a credit card for the deposit (50%). You may want to make sure your credit line is large enough on your card. I got closing papers mailed to me within 10 days and we signed everything and mailed it back. As an example: WE put down deposit on Oct 9. Our deed was recorded on November 8th. WE got the official deed on Jan 9th. I would imagine doing the paperwork on site would cut out some time. Hope this helps.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and we had a choice for lunch between all three of those restaurants. We ate at Spoodles and it was terrific.

In December all we got was Fast Pass's to two rides of our choice. We got Test Track and Tower of Terror. We never used the ToT and gave them away.

Now I really feel cheated. Maybe I need to pay a visit to my Sales Guide when I go down next month!

When we were down we received a free lunch, but it was not for purchasing a DVC, it was for taking the DVC tour. Anyone who took the tour was entitled to a free lunch, regardless of whether they made a purchase.

That explains it. I never even took a tour! We stayed in a one bedroom villa at BWV and absolutely loved it. After deciding we would come back for the next few years we spoke to a friend who had just purchased and realized that DVC was made for us! As soon as we got home, I picked up the phone and did it all that way.
