whats involved in the closing, how long does it take and do you have to travel to disney to close

Are you asking about a purchase from Disney or a resale? In either case, you should not have to travel for closing. I am currently closing on a purchase from TSS and everything is done by mail/fax/FedEx. I almost bought direct from Disney and that also would have been by mail/fax/FedEx.

Buying resale can take 60 days to close and get your points. Buying from Disney, you get your points when your deposit clears, but closing can take a few weeks.

I just added on points at AKV drect through Disney. Signed and mailed papers back on March 2, contract closed March 19. If going with resale, I think the average time is about 7 weeks.
