What the heck is wrong with Disney management my premium pass is essentially useless if I can't get there till 5 and the park closes at 7pm! Are there any other passholders frustrated by this?

Useless? You have another 364 days to use it. Why don't you pick a Saturday when the park is open until 12am? Or use your AP for a disounted Mickey's Halloween Party ticket on Friday so you can see the special event that closes the park early.

I will gladly take your useless pass! I live in Utah but I'm pretty sure I could use it more than you! ;)

I'm curious as to what other AP holders would say if they didn't offer MHPs on a weekend night..."How can I go to a party that lasts until midnight when I have work/school the next morning"...hmmmmm

I'm actually glad that they have two nights a week, I will gladly go to the Tuesday one after work and stay till closing and have it be less crowded. I don't mind the late hours during the week for DL, that's what coffee is for! :)

I will chime in here that I think special ticket events are wrong. Whatever the OP's motives, does Disney reduce the price of their day ticket because they close 5 hours early? It is chipping away at the core value of their product.

Without the special events, Disneyland is creating more demand with them. The special events advertise to those who don't attend too, creating demand for other times.

Perhaps the trade off would be closing at 11pm all summer because not as many people would come to the parks in general if we didn't have special events.

Why not go on Saturday's well I'll tell u.... I work 16-18 hour days on both sat and Sunday's! But I guess what I'm saying is with a premium pass it would be nice to go after work friday for more then an hour! Is my pass useless no, am I a little frustrated yes!

Really guys? Just because a person has one post does not make him/her a troll. Please be kind to all our guests, whether they are new or not. Rude posts have been deleted.

Back in the mid-90's, Disney had two years where they did Halloween Haunts geared to children. The first year was great. Pirates otC had cast members in the attraction dressed as pirates (I couldn't tell them apart until they started talking), and other really cool things. The second year, Disney scaled down a lot, and I remember only part of the park being opened. Disney just couldn't compete against Knotts, Universal, and Magic Mtn. There was no third year.

Now, they've come back with a new Mickey's Halloween Party, and it's been successful enough that they have continued to have it and expanded on it (bigger parade this year than last year, etc., moving from DCA to DL ... ).

As long as Disney makes money doing these events, they will continue. If enough people don't like it they won't go, Disney will not make money, and then the parks will change. However, I think that guests do like it, and Disney will continue to have these events.

Sorry, OP, that you couldn't go on the nights you wanted, but there are plenty of other nights you can go and take advantage of the fun.

How long is the 7 pm closing time lasting? Is this just a one time thing? I don't know much about summer hours.:confused3

There is "value added" to the special event ticket, at least for MHP -- I can enter DL at 4 pm for a party that starts at 7 pm. Then I can buy a one-day ParkHopper for the following day to explore both DL & DCA.

Originally I'd planned on only going on the Friday to see both parks, but this is a much better deal. And since Disney clearly posts park hours on their website, anyone buying a day ticket has plenty of warning!

Since I don't live in the area -- not even the same coast -- an AP is not an option.

For my friends in CA, they know their APs are an AMAZING value even if there are some evenings they can't go because of special ticket events.

I wish OP could appreciate what they have instead of complaining about what they don't.
