does anyone have info on which hotels/motels outside wdw are closest to the parks. not including disney springs resorts. looking for a decent outside place to stay

Because Walt Disney World is so large, there are multiple "entrances". Most of these access points will have multiple hotel options. For example, here's a screenshot from Orbitz. Each of the flags is an offsite hotel and most of them would be considered to be close to WDW.

If you can provide a few more details, we might be able to provide some better answers. The term "decent" can mean very different things to different people. Some folks might define that as cheap/economical and others might view it as having certain amenities. Also, let us know if you would be driving or if you would expect the hotel to provide shuttle service.

thanks for your help. yes, i will be driving. i heard shuttles can be very unreliable. my budget would be around 100-120 per night. the only amenity i would require is a pool. definitely not looking for a motel 6 type but something a little higher up. thanks again for both your responses

When are you going? Have you looked at Wyndham Bonnet creek? They have really good rates for slower times and they are on Disney property.

going week after thanksgiving, nov 29th. heard that week is supposed to be a good one but seems like many resorts including disney resorts are booked including wyndham bonnet creek

Silver Lakes is close to AK.
Vacation Villa at Parkway, Sheraton Vistana Resort, Cypress Pointe are fairly close. so are Bryan's Spanish Cove and Orbit One Vacation Villas - they are all timeshares
