I usually shop at SuperTarget when staying at BWV, but am looking for a full supermarket for my next trip. Which supermarket is closest to BWV? I think there's a Publix around the corner from Target, but my memory is fuzzy. How are the prices at Publix?

Thanks!

We live in the Orlando area and only shop at Publix. I feel that their prices are very good.

Did you have a car to go to Target? or take a Cab?
I wonder how much it would cost for a cab to get there? We usually order groceries..but if BWV is close to a grocery store we might choose that option.

I'm not exactly sure where the Publix is but last time we went down to WDW it wasn't too far. We used to live in Florida (for over 14 years) and Publix was the nicest grocery store we have ever been to. Good prices and even their own brand of food was high-quality!

Hi Debi,
I'm terrible about remembering the name's of the streets. We just go down the road a little way from crosswords intersection to that grocery store. When you are coming from the DTD area and come to the crossroads(goodings area) intersection turn left and just past the next major interesection is a really nice full service grocery. You can't miss it. They have a pond with a large water fountain out front. I'm sorry but I don't remember the name of that store. Someone here will probably know. It has a great customer card that you can get for free for discounts in the store. If you are out of town you can still pay with a check. There is also a nice publix over by the discount mall. You could shop at the disney store and then head to publix. Susan from NYE

Just checked. It is Winn Dixie.
Both Winn Dixie and Publix have web site's so that may be helpful.

 Susan! I'm going to check out Winn Dixie's website now.

I did check, and it is a Publix that's near Target. Given the choice between Winn Dixie and Publix, which one is better (both in therms of customer service and cleanlieness/price)?

We have done Publix but not one close. We have done Goodings and that Winn Dixie which are close if you have car. Goodings is basically bottom feeding, OK if you just don't want to travel a little further. The Winn Dixie was very nice and it seemed quite new last time we were there in January. The Publix that we have been too (but much further away) have also been very nice.

If you're going to shop at Winn Dixie go to their web site and get their shopping card for instore discounts.

If you do a search.....grocery map, I posted a map that marks a few different stores. I'm not on my regular computer, so can't put the map in here and I'm not sure how to link to the other post.

Debi,

I personally liked the winn dixie. Both winn dixie and publix I mentioned were very clean and full service. I think the above winn dixie may be closer than the publix I mentioned. Both I believe are fairly new. Susan

I've used the new Super Walmart on 535 the past 2 or 3 trips. I've used the Winn Dixie when staying at OKW, it's closer.

The super Wal Mart is likely closest if you go past Pop and take the toll road. There are 3 Pulix's all within about the same distance from BWV. These are the one behind the Outlets on I drive, the one at 535 & 192 and the one on 192 right by the new Toll Road that runs from the Turnpike to I-4. From BWV, they are all roughly the same distance as the WD as well. While that is one of the nicer WD I've seen, I doubt that will last many more years. Even the old Publix at 192 & 535 is not nearly as nice as the other 2 I mentioned. The one on West 192 can also be accessed by sneaking out the back way past the AK. There is another Publix on 192 close to Celebration if I recall but I haven't actually been to that one.

That Publix is easy to get to from property. Just head East on Osceola and turn South at Gaylord Palm. That intersection is International Drive but quite a bit West of the main strip. Clean store with good selection. From BWV it is probably easiest to turn left on BVD and then take a right on Victory Way past Pop. Take a left on Osceola and then a right at I Drive at Gaylord Palms. The Publix is on the left just before you reach 192.

I've often gone to the WD North of Crossroads. You can sign up for their savings program at checkout. It takes about 30 seconds.

Thanks, everyone! It sounds like Winn Dixie is the way to go.

I'm a little unclear of the location on 192. When you come to the intersection of 536 and 192, do you turn left (like you're headed to SuperTarget) or right?

Debi,
I have never been to the super target so I can't help there. If you are familiar with Goodings grocery store area you would turn left rather than go through the intersection. This is coming from the DTD area to the crossroads area. I remember at this intersection they have the big picture's of Mickey and Minnie. Susan

Thanks, everyone! It sounds like the Winn Dixie near Gaylord Palms and near Downtown Disney are about equal distance from BWV (although the one near Gaylord Palms might be a tad bit closer). BCV23, do you have an exact address for this location?

Winn Dixie is reached by leaving BCV/BWV area and acting as if you are going to DTD. Drive thru the DTD area hotels out to Vineland/APopka -at the light leaving Disney property turn left--the W/D is just a short ways on the right side past a strip mall with a Giordano's and the Country Inn and Suites etc...

Debi, the store near Gaylord Palms is a Publix. The address is 2925 International Dr., Kissimee. If you google publix and enter a zip of 34747 (zip for Celebration) it's the store located at Xentury Center.

When I go to the Winn Dixie, I don't take PKS44's route as I hate all the lights along LBV Drive and Hotel BLVD. Instead I take World Drive if at BCV and then head past FW, etc.. I skirt along the North of property if at the Polynesian too and will do that if we're ever at VWL. But PKS's route is probably the easiest to WinnDixie if you don't like to explore a bit.

Wouldn't qualify as a "grocery store", but there is a Hess gas station within walking distance of BWV that sells snacks, beer and wine. :goodvibes
