DH has a CPAP machine and it can ONLY take distilled water. We're flying so getting enough water there with us isn't really an option so we need to find some when we get there. We're staying at the Hyatt Place near the convention center. If we need to, I'll have VON's deliver but they over charge for everything so I'd rather walk a few blocks to a grocery store...is there something close? I know Target is on the ART route but I don't want to waste too much time doing that if we don't have to.

Why not get a water filtration bottle? They're water bottles with a built-in, replaceable filter that you can take on the go and filter tap water anywhere. No need to worry about buying $3 bottles of water at the Parks or finding and lugging around a palette of 12 or 24 bottles.

Here are some:

I bet the CVS (under the Springhill Suites on the corner of Harbor and Katella, a couple hotels over from the Hyatt Place) carries gallons of distilled water. Try calling them to verify though!

Closets big store would be Target... up the road on Harbor and Chapman.. there are a few 7/11 type stores in between, but I dont know if they would sell distilled water... !!

Usually you can just use non-mineral bottle water and clean the machine when you get home.

What is a crap machine? tia.... does that mean literally a machine for poop? Hey, I am being serious here, for that is the only thing that comes to mind. lol

OMG! I just read the op again. It is c p a p. OK, so like man never mind. lol ;)
Yes, I am just a tad bit embarrassed here......

The Spouse Thingy just uses tap water in his when we travel. A few days won't hurt it, just clean it well when you get home.

I asked him if he could use regular bottled water but he said no. IT's a REALLY expensive machine, I don't want to break it!

IME convenience stores usually do not sell distilled water. Anywhere with a pharmacy should, even if you have to ask the pharmacist - they need it for mixing certain liquid meds, among other things. And they will often sell the commercially-prepared gallon jugs.

An option that sometimes works is to contact the hotel you will be staying at directly: they may be able to have e.g. a gallon available for you, or can direct you to the closest location that sells it. With the number of people that have CPAP machines these days, it is probably not an unusual request for them.

Thanks for this, I use one myself. Have to be careful about the water, I have seen some awful crap at the bottom of mine after the water has evaporated from some mineral free bottled water. Its a pain to try and scrub that chamber out.
Remember to carry it on the plane, don't check it!

Didn't realize CPAP machine were so sensitive. If you have to have distilled water, I'd agree with PPs who suggest the new CVS on the corner of Harbor and Katella on the ground floor of the new SpringHill Suites. The new CVS is large, has free customer parking, and is on the same block as the Convention Center, so very walkable if you don't have a car. As a pharmacy, it'll likely have distilled water over convenience stores like the 7-11 across the street.

Filtered water and distilled water are two different things. Simple filtering wont take out all the minerals.
