We will be at WDW in January, our airline changed our flights, so we have an extra day there now and were thinking about going over to SW - what hotel would you recommend for that last night?
The closest hotel to Sea World is the Reniassance Hotel, which is right across the street. It's pricey -- rooms are around $149 a night. If you want a cheaper room, there are numerous hotels down International Drive and Universal Blvd. If you stay at one of these places, you can take the I-Ride Trolley down to Sea World. I think the trolley is 75 cents or $1 a ride.
The Renaissance Orlando Resort participates in Priceline (we booked this way for a 2 night stay in December). See www.biddingfortravel.com for further info particularly if you are unfamiliar with priceline. So far it is the only Resort hotel to be recorded in the Universal/Seaworld area and the 'normal' winning rate is $69.
Renaissance is the closest being across the street. Hilton Garden Inn is next closest, next to the Renaissance. And Sheraton World is on the other side of the Renaissance a little farther away.
We just stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. It's right next to the Renaissance resort (which is the closest hotel to SW) and was only $54.00 per night. It's very clean and new, and each room has a mini-fridge and a microwave. There's a pool, fitness center, and restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I noticed that was the only resort and was wondering if there was a catch. I've never bought anything on priceline. There is 3 adults and 2 kids. I'm afraid I'll get a room with only 1 bed. I'm staying at the Swan (March 2004)Sun-Friday and thinking about extending the vacation thru Sunday to do Universal, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens. I an debating on staying at one of onsite Universal hotels or the Renaissance. Any suggestions?
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Seaworld-it was very nice-the staff were excellent-the I-trolley was great to the outlet malls and to International drive-we got a 3 day ticket for $3.00. Not much in the way of eating right around the hotel-the hotel restaurant was good but a bit pricey. We paid $89. a night but it included breakfast which would have cost around $40 for the 4 of us.
