Closest Hotel To DD?

I just booked 2 rooms at Pop for January 15-19 in case a good package deal comes out. I got each room for 342.36 with AAA making it a total of $685 for 2 rooms for 4 nights.

My husband loves DD and I see that somne of the partner properties can sleep 5-6. Does anyone know what is the closest hotel to DD? And if we stay at one of the DD hotels, do we still have Disney Transportaion and the ability to send things back to our room?

with a DD hotel you don't get WDW transportation - they have Mears transportation. It comes every 30 minutes.

SSR is the closest WDW resort to DD - you can easily walk to DD from SSR. (if you stay in Congress Park section)

otherwise POR or POFQ have a boat to DD.

Pop is the closest value resort. Pricewise - you probably can't do better than Pop.

now there is offsite hotels - with horrible bus transportation - so if you intend to stay offsite you need a rental car.

disney's 'partner properties' just mean the Disney ticket you buy from them are good. - there are several dealers that sell fake disney tickets - that are worthless. this is disney guaranteed that the tickets you buy from their 'partner properties' are good. any problems and Disney will replace them.

OKW also has a boat to DtD, but SSR is closest and a boat ride or walk away. We find the walk from Congress park to be easy and pleasant.

DtD area hotels won't offer you WDW bus transportation or the ability to send packages back to your room.

now the dd hotels are also close. but other than the doubletree suites - have 4 in a room like disney - some may have 5?

Wow you guys really know your stuff

I think I will stick with Pop! We LOVE Disney Transportation!
The last time we were there, we never had to get in our own car and it was heaven! I tried to get in at POR so all 5 of us could stay in one room but they are all booked up! Now just hoping for a good January code
