Closest Hertz location to WDW

OK..here's the deal. We are staying at Embassy Suites LBV for 4 nights then moving over to Old Key West for 5 nights. The nights at Embassy were won on a Spirit Airlines sweepstakes. We also were awarded a car rental thru Hertz. Can somebody please let me know where the clsoest Hertz rental location would be?? DH really doesn't want to do the airport car rental thing "because of the shuttle thing". I told him it wasn't any big deal. I have signed up for Hertz Gold Club and it sounded like the rental process would be simple..less wait, easier check-in. Any help out there???

Both the Buena Vista Suites and the Caribe Royal Hotel on World Center Drive have Hertz desks. However, I think you are correct that the shuttle is no big deal at MCO, particularly for Gold Club members.

The Hertz shuttle at MCO is great. Never wait for a shuttle to pull in. You are driving away from the lot in 10 mins or so. When you return do curbside check in then return the car.

You should look for Hertz local edition locations in the Orlando area on the Hertz web site. You can make arrangements for them to deliver the car to you and pick it up when you are done.

Be warned. Some of the Hertz "local editions" are not corporate owned and don't always honor the coupons and deals.

They may have a more limited selection of vehicles too. We have not used a "local" Hertz location. However, we used a Thrifty desk in one of the hotels on 192 across from Celebration. We needed an SUV, which they happened to have, but they definitely did not have a huge selection like the airport locations.
