My husband and I are going to be staying at the Yacht Club and we will have a car - we're wondering what the closest off-property grocery store would be - we'd like to get snacks, drinks, etc for the room and find buying it on site is too expensive...thank you!!! We can't wait :D

I've used Goodings supermarket [Crossroads near Hotel Plaza Blvd] for it's convenience. It is a "tourist's" supermarket, so to speak, so it is probably higher than your supermarket back home.

I know others have said they've used Publix or another I think, though I haven't so I'm sorry I can't provide more info on those...hopefully they'll post a reply for you.

Goodings was good enough for us...just needed a few last minute things. The convenience outweighed any additional cost. My thinking: I'm not spending my vacation grocery shopping.

Hope this helps. :)
Have a great vacation. :)

The closest grocery store to the YC is Publix. To get there from the Yackt Club, make a right out of the complex onto Epcot Resort Blvd. Continue around until you reach the light just past the Boardwalk (Exxon on corner). Make a left. At your next light, make a right, this is Victory Way. Take this around, past the back of CBR and past Pop Century. At the first light, make a left onto Oceola Parkway. continue straight on Osceola Parkway, off WDW property. After you cross over Route 4, you'll see the GAylord Palms Hotel. At the next light (Gaylord is still on right) make a right onto International Drive South. The PUblix is down the road approx 3/4 mile on the left. There is also a Winn Dixie on Route 535(just past Goodings), but I've personally never been there. It is about 10 minutes away, where as the Publix is like 5 minutes. The prices at the Publix and Winn Dixie are similiar to what you'd see at your local market, but the prices at Goodings are VERY high and not worth it in my opinion. I figure their prices are high to pay for the carpeting in the store and the person handing you your cart.

Carpeting in the store? I don't remember that...I must've really been in a hurry to get in & out of there. LOL

Lori,

Do you know the address for the Publix you went to? I tried superpages.com & mapquest.com, but there's too many Publix stores in FL.

Thanks. :)

Here is the address and phone number of this Publix:

2925 International Dr
Kissimmee, FL 34746-4407
Main: (407) 397-1171
