I know this isn't a DVC question, but it didn't seem to fit the Disney restaurant board either. For the first time since we started going to WDW in 1982, we are not getting the dining plan for the whole trip. (We're thinking it's not a great value anymore.) We are getting the Deluxe plan for our three nights at BLT, but we are going to pay OOP and use TIW for the six nights we are at BWV. We are only going to go offsite once and DH wants to go to Carrabba's.

The problem is DH doesn't drive, and since he's legally blind he cannot help me read signs or anything while I'm driving. It gets dark early so I'd like to go to a Carrabba's that is close, but also very easy to find, so I can't possibly get lost. Can anyone help me out? Thanks

Carrabba's
Lake Bryan (407) 938-0015
8702 Vineland Ave.
Orlando, FL 32821
Proprietor: Sandi Smith

Sun-Thurs: 4-10:30pm
Fri & Sat: 4-11:30pm

Directions:
Located a half mile west of the Premium Outlet Mall.
East on I-4 to Exit 68 (535). Cross-over 535 and continue straight to Vineland Ave.
West on I-4 to Exit 68 (535). Left on 535, left on Vineland Ave.

From the BWV go out the front entrance to the resort and at the Hess station, turn left onto Lake Buena Vista Drive. Stay on it going toward Downtown Disney, onto Hotel Plaza Blvd.

At 535 (Apopka Vineland) which is Crossroads, turn right, proceed under the Interstate moving over to the left hand lane to turn left onto Vineland Rd.

Which is where the Premium Outlets are. I personally would not get on the Interstate to go over there.

Since you were so quick with the answer, and thanks again, does anyone know where the nearest Outback is, also from BWV? DH refuses to go to the Brown Derby ever since they took the filet mignon off the menu and while we do love Yachtsman, it's an arm and a leg. We'll be going to Outback in February when we get no dining plan whatsoever for the entire trip. Yikes! Can't wait to see how that works out.

There is an Outback at the Premium Outlets. It's a little further down Vineland Ave past Carrabba's.

Thanks erionm...we'll check out the location when we hit Carrabba's. Those are about the only chains we go to. We like them because the meals are always consistently good, not gourmet, but good.

In January we are going to do two "offsites," Outback like I said, and we're going to order pizza from Giordano's which everyone on the boards really seems to like. Do you know how far the actual Giordano's restaurant is? Maybe we could just go there instead of ordering in if it's close enough.

Excellent directions! This is exactly how I go when I drive to the Premium Outlets, Carrabas, etc. There also is a Publix over there as well.

This is how we go to that area also, and that Publix is our "go to" grocery when we are OKW.

Giodano's is about 5 miles from BWV. You would turn left on to SR535 from Hotel Plaza Blvd. According to mapquest it will be about 1/2 mile down on the right once you turn on to SR535.

Girodano's is easy to drive too also. When you get to Hotel Plaza Blvd and SR 535 Apopka-Vineland (Crossroads) turn left. Go past the Palm Pkwy intersection and it will be on your right before you get to Vinnings Way Blvd.

Right across the street from Joe's Crab Shack and Macaroni Grill. There are several good restaurants in this area including Chili's and Olive Garden.

This is why we love staying at OKW or SSR, as we eat alot of meals off property at the restuarants up and down SR535. Disney is way too expensive for medicore food and after 25 years of going we are way over the Disney experience at meals.
