Closest building to monorail at Poly?

We are staying at the Polynesian and I was wondering is there a building I should request that is close to the monorail station? I know it sounds lazy, but I will have a 4 month old and a 2 year old and I am hoping to come back for naps in the afternoon. Hopefully we wouldn't have too far to walk to the room if one or both are asleep!

If you are wealthy, I'd suggest Tonga. If you are more like me, I'd suggest Niue. However, Niue was formerly a smoking longhouse (not anymore) and reports will have to tell us if there is a lingering smell. How about Rarotonga? You are close to the busstops and the monorail.

Do you want a building that's close to the monorail station IN the Poly or a building that's close to the monorail station at the TTC? We stayed in Tahiti, it was far from the GCH but a 5 minute walk to the TTC monorail station.

If you mean the closest to the T&T center then Rhapa Nui it is the buiding that houses all the Handicapped rooms.

Rapa Nui and Tahiti are close to the TTC, where both the MK and Epcot monorails are.

I think Niue is closes to the main building, where you can catch the monorail that does the MK, TTC and resorts.

None of the longhouses are more than a two or three minute walk. It's not like some of the value and moderate resorts where the furthest building can be a close to ten minute walk to the lobby.

With the little ones I'd worry more about being in a quiet building. IMHO the ones around the marina can get really noisy during the day with the watermice coming in and going out.

Raratonga and Niue are both steps from the GCH.

But taking the ferry back from the MK is the easiest mode of all with strollers. It takes you to the TTC and as others said, it is a very short walk to Rapa Nui and Tahiti. No need to fold a stroller on the ferry, just wheel right on. You can often do the same on the monorail but jockeying the stroller around isn't as easy IMO and if it's very crowded you might need to fold it...maybe they don't make people do that anymore though. Rapa Nui does have accessible rooms but many more that aren't. You are then very close to the Epcot monorail too.

I'd look at the map and decide what matters to you most. But as Ducklite said, the Polynesian just isn't that spread out.

I'd agree with this, except for one caveat: do NOT take this ferry if it is near park opening or closing time for MK. That ferry is the same one used by offsite people driving to the TTC to park, so it can be packed during those times. There won't be much room for an unfolded stroller during those times. Better to fold down the stroller and ride the Poly-GF-MK water taxi in this case.

But if you are more than 2 hours removed from MK opening or closing, the ferry should be a much more pleasant trip.

This ferry, however, is often less crowded and easier to get on than that MK Express monorail to the TTC.

Thanks for all of the input, guys! I will definately use this advice!

John, good point about closing. However, we have used the ferry at opening and it is not bad at all. It can look like a lot of people but the ferry holds so many. It is also surprisingly fast.

Stayed last Sept at Rarotonga, and it was steps from GCH. Also a 2 minute walk to either pool and bus stop. I had 5 and 2 year olds not in strollers and they were fine. Our location was also very quiet(good for naps). Have fun!:wave2:
