We're booked at PORS right now. We're wondering if anyone would recommend moving to a value resort? We'd be saving about $500. We'll have a pack n play taking up room in the floor. and we'll move DS2's bed against the wall to make more room/keep him from falling off.
Will the POP room be enough for our family? I've stayed there before (with just adults) and it was fine, but I'd love to hear from families that have done it.
Any advice would be much welcomed. We were all ready to stay in a moderate, but now my budget savvy mind is full of $$$.

Thanks in advance!

That all depends on what the $500.00 means to you and your family. If I could get All Stars Movies, I would consider it but other than that, you may want to look into POFQ because it is a smaller resort and may meet your needs because of the ages of your kids.

We just stayed at POR in November... if you get a room in Alligator Bayou (we had no trouble gettng one, request it at booking) your 2yo can sleep on the pull out trundle on the floor (my5yo slept there). We then put our little one (3yo) in his blow up bed near the sinks (I assume a pack n play would fit there too) and there was a curtian that closed off his own little "room". I don't know if all rooms have this, but our room had a dimmer switch on the lights (BRILLIANT!) so we could put them to bed, and still have a little light without brightening the whole room!

We loved the scenery at POR, boat to DD was fun, also you can boat down to POFQ and the kids loved the pool and water slide there as well!

We have stayed at POP also, when they were 3.5 and 1.5, but we got 2 connecting rooms. Fun water jets, cool pools, fun!

If you get a room similar to mine at POR, I think that's a great choice!

Either way it will be good! Have fun!!

Just an FYI:
Not all of the resorts have beds that are movable.

The beds at Pop are bolted to floor and cannot be moved.
The beds at the All Stars are moveable and you can move one of the beds against the wall to keep a little one safe and allow a little more usuable space in the room.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

With children that young, I'd move and save the $500. We stayed at All Star Sports and thought it was quite nice. All Star Movies looks real cute for kids, too. We can't see much difference in room size or comfort in a moderate vs. a value resort. I agree you should stay where the bed can be moved to the wall. If you value having a sit-down restaurant on site, then stay with your current plans. Otherwise, no real difference in the food courts, either.

The moderates have a nicer ambience overall, but we thought All Star Sports was fun. We didn't mind it at all.

You could also look in All Star Music Family Suites. One might cost you about the same as a room at POR, not sure. You'd have more room, a kitchenette and a separate room for mom and dad. Just a thought.

Save the $$$ they will love the values...I think you can request a bedrail for your 2 year old

Thanks everyone for your much needed advice. We ended up booking at the ASMu. DS2 LOVES everything that has to do with music, so I think he'll have the time of his life! We requested the Jazz Bldg. We're saving $600 so i think it's well worth the 50 sq ft. difference. :yay:

Congrats on your choice!
I hope your family enjoys All Star Music as much as my family does.
I am sure you will enjoy the money you saved.:)

To be honest I personaly do not feel that is much difference in the room size between the values and the mods anyway.
--------------------------------------------------

I feel that there is not much room size difference between a mod and a value.

Here is the layout of a mod.
The bathroom is about the same size as the All Stars but you will have 2 sinks instead of one.

here is the All Star room layout'

The mod has 54 square feet more than the value.
That means if both the mod and the value room were 27 feet long than the mod would be 2 feet wider. Just enough room for a double sink instead of a single.

To me that is not a lot of room size difference.

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:
