We're booked at PORS right now. We're wondering if anyone would recommend moving to a value resort? We'd be saving about $500. We'll have a pack n play taking up room in the floor. and we'll move DS2's bed against the wall to make more room/keep him from falling off.
Will the POP room be enough for our family? I've stayed there before (with just adults) and it was fine, but I'd love to hear from families that have done it.
Any advice would be much welcomed. We were all ready to stay in a moderate, but now my budget savvy mind is full of $$$.

Thanks in advance!

For some reason I'm thinking you can't move the beds at Pop, can any one verify? My DD was 3 when we stayed at the Pop, she absolutly loved the goofy fountian by the 70s section, it was her favorite thing about the whole trip, we would be at the parks and she would ask I she could go back to to hotel to play in the "sprinklers". When we went though we only had our 3 yr old and shared a connecting room with my parents so we had lots of space. In your case I think I would def go moderate. Also to consider PORS I believe has trundle beds. "These are small beds, just big enough for a child under the age of 9 that pull out from underneath a larger bed. These are available in the Alligator Bayou section only."

Also here's the room layouts for PC and PORS, consider the difference in sq feet, 314 to 260.

We were able to move the beds at ASMu but not at POP. At Pop, we had to request the rails for the bed. We really didn't think there was a huge difference between the 2 hotels, but we aren't too picky. We hardly spend any time in the room. Breakfast, shower and sleep. That's it.

How much time do you plan to spend IN YOUR ROOM? If you plan to be there a lot, the rooms at POP are very small, but $500 is a lot of money! We're doing a large family trip next month and we're all staying at POP, but we are only in our room to sleep and shower. The bus transportation is better at POP that at POR (we have stayed at both) because it is dedicated to one resort with one stop.

We stayed at POP in 2006 and just spent a weekend at POR last month. We swore we would never spend the extra $ for a moderate because we couldn't see that we got that much more for the extra money. Now the jump from mod to dlx is a different story, but IMHO the jump in services and space from a value to a mod is not worth the money. Or maybe take that $500 and apply it to a dlx for part of your stay? :confused3

Well, we haven't gone yet with little ones, but we love POP! :thumbsup2 We finally bit the bullet last year & split our stay between POP & Caribbean Beach (our first Moderate.) We actually found ourselves missing POP & wishing we hadn't dumped the extra money for a further walk from everything & poor bus service.

We love the POP & I think it would be great for little ones to admire! ;) The food court there can't be beat & bus service is one of the best around, which will probably be important with little ones. :)

In the future we will likely only stay at Values or Deluxes, we just weren't happy with the extra money for the mod.

I was going to highly suggest staying at the resort your already booked at PORS. we stayed there in 05 and my middle DD was then 2 1/2 and she slept quite comfy on the little trundle bed. see pic below. Are's was just like a little matress that pulled out from under a bed. She slept basically between the bed my DH and I slept on and then the wall. We did roll up the top comforter from our bed (and left a note for mousekeeping they didn't have to unroll each day) and put in between her little bed and shoved slightly under ours becuse the first night she kinda rolled partialy under.

It worked super well for us and I bet you can put the pack n play for your other child in front of this little bench area toward the back of room. Also bonus the bathroom has a curtian you can pull across (in front of the sinks) So in the morning as I did when we were there would get cleaned up with the light on but the curtian pulled to not disturb the kids slepping still.

We really loved staying there!

Thanks for all of the much needed advice. In the end we decided to save $600 and book at the ASMu. DS2 LOVES music, so we think he'll be on cloud 9. We requested the Jazz bldg. I've heard they have privacy curtains. Thanks again!
