CLOSED Sketch Swap Progress

I would think doing it like you are looking at the map itself. Start with Mexico on the left hand side and end with Canada on the bottom of the right.

Nope, I start in Canada most of the time.

I was just picturing the page resembling the map. If you put a pic of the map on the page, that is how it would go.

I'm teasing. I'm far too AR to go left when we get to Epcot (although my sister likes to start in Mexico with the Margaritas).

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

It never even occurred to me to start in Mexico. It always feels closer to start with Canada, especially when the only countries we spent any amount of time in are England and France.

I know the sketch doesn't show it, but what if you rounded all the edges except for the vertical strip? I think that might be all it needs.

I'll try that. It just feels like it's missing something :confused3 Rachel says she loves it, but, she seems to "love" everything I make lately ;)

I love that, wdwmickey! It is very cute, but classy! Is that the right word?

I need some helps, too. I am working on Group 3 (Epcot) Sketch SC12.

Lori I love the flags. Country order is a great idea Annie. Also the only suggestion I have is to maybe turn the right page of the sketch so the flags are all "hanging" from the top of the page.

Duh, that is a great idea! You can rotate any part of the layout. One or both pages, it's okay.

DH loves the Gyros in Morocco and we all love the toy store in England. If we go with my sister, we go left. If it's just the 3 of us, we go right ;) Either way, we usually make it all the way around.

Cheryl - I love the page...what about a small line of gems on the top and bottom...hard to explain what I mean...but here goes...

Start about 7" from the far right side on the top of page 2 and place them spaced 3/4 - 1" apart until the edge, then do the same on the far left bottom of page 1. Even if the ones on the top go over the blue, it would look cute, I think! That is the only thing I could come up with. Either way, I know it will be fantastic!

Lori - I love both pages! The Epcot one is amazing! The flags must have taken you forever! I agree that they would be great in country order in WS. They are awesome hanging like that! I kind of like them to the side on page two for a bit of a change up...plus it makes you feel like you are "rounding" the lagoon. But, all the flags from the top would probably be great, also! Amazing job! Definitely go with all the flags, though!!

LOL We usually start in Canada because it is closer...but being left-handed, it is so hard for me...I want to head to the left naturally!! Last year when we went with no kids, we started in Mexico for the same reason the Jennifer's sister does!! LOL Speaking of which, might I suggest...If you are going to Mexico for drinks, do yourself a favor and go inside to the "cave"...amazing drinks...better than the outside kiosk!! Ok...back to our regularly scheduled program!!!!

Ah, my sister is a lefty too. Maybe that's the *real* reason she goes that way ;)

I enjoy the margaritas too, just not too early in the morning. I'll remember that for next trip, thanks for the tip, Erin.

I am unbelievably jealous of all that will receive these beautiful pages in this swap! I use the sketch support site and the Scrapbook Generations sketch books almost exclusively for my layouts, and recognize these - some of my favorites!

Great work, guys! thanks for the ideas and inspiration!

Annie, don't you know the rule when traveling DISNEY??? You always go left.. it usually has the shorter lines...and most people go right first.... That is why we always go left, probably because I am left-handed and I'm the QUEEN of our household.. my rules or there is chaos!!!

But I don't wanna go to Mexico. Nope, not going. :rotfl2:

We get to Morocco and then take the boat back if they are working or turn around and go back. :rotfl2: I think we've made it around once in the three trips.

Yepper!! And, the inside place does not open until noon, so you will not have to worry about drinking in the am hours there! :thumbsup2 I guess they agree that the clock should be reading pm hours before drinking so they open a little after the rest of WS. Still allows more than enough time to make it around! And, it is so easy to spend the first hour (while waiting for it to open) looking in the shops and stands inside the building. We loved it there...so many cute things!

Nan - I am sure it is the left-handed thing...I am always drawn that way! And, the same holds true in my house...they follow where I go!! Hahahahaha!!!!

Annie - if you are ending at Morocco, aren't you missing Germany and Japan?? They are my favorites!!!!!!!!!! You must get there!!!!!

We did make it around once. But I had to bribe my kids with getting candy from every country to do it. LOL I do have photos of all the countries now. And we did ride the Maelstrom in Norway. :thumbsup2

Love all the new pages posted!

You ladies had me cracking up about left or right!!! I make all the plans for our trips with a little input (usually dragged out of them) from the kids so we always have ended in in Canada for lunch, their choice not mine. This past trip I was by myself for a few hours and I started in Mexico, it has to be a left-handed thing. I love all the countries, drinks in some, snacks in others, shops in all of them!

Still working on my last set of sketch pages.

Cassey

Erin ~ keep in mind regardless "it's 5 o'clock some where" so as soon as the margartias are ready, so am I!

Ok Annie, I'm now on a mission to get you around the world this June... I will make a game for the kids so you can get around it... I'll talk to my kids about their favorite one..
We've done: say hello to someone in the native language, must get a photo w/ a hat from each country, must get a photo of a stuffed animal in each country, must buy a flag in each country (3 kids so we took turns buying until of course Germany didn't have any! What, really, they ran out). This year we are looking for hidden mickey's in each country.. they each have to find one without telling the other where...

Ahhh, yes Nan!! Very true!!

When Dh and I went last September with friends, we started the hats in all the countries. But, we were also trying the drink around the world thing...yeah...the last hat was photographed in Germany!! :rotfl2: We weren't crazy, just not worried about has anymore!! I like the hidden Mickey idea!! I eed to do something this year to keep the kids happy in the countries. They like it there, but when we did the drink around the world last year, we spent much more time and saw so much more. We were in WS for 9 hours!! There are a lot of things we had never seen...when we thought we had seen it all! So, I want to explore again!! That will help keep the kids busy and they won't realize we are sending so much time!

We always zig zag around World Showcase- anything to keep the 8 year old entertained! Come to think of it, maybe that's why the flags are willy nilly!

Did I read about a bribe with candy??? I am taking notes now! We have never made it around WS in a day. It's become a running joke.
