MOST CURRENT INFO: One BWV studio villa, preferred view, is still available. Travel dates are checkin Thursday, October 18, and checkout Monday, October 22. Rental price is $744 for the full reservation, or $650 if you only want three of the nights (your choice of which three). Payment is accepted via PayPal. Any associated PayPal fees are the responsibility of the renter.

A deluxe studio villa can sleep up to four (4) people. Here's a map of the floorplan: http://eveysblissfulgarden.com/disboards/BoardwalkVillas-Floorplan.jpg .

If interested, please send a PM on Disboards or an email to EVEYBL@AOL.COM.

Please note, if this studio villa is not rented by Monday morning (September 17), we will be closing the thread and withdrawing the offer to rent. If you are thinking about these travel plans, please contact me before then.

For comparison, the retail price for a BWV deluxe studio villa during the same time period is approximately $430 plus tax per night (averaged over weekday and weekend rates). So, the reservation being offered in this thread is about 62% off from the retail cost, with the following comparable values:

One villa x 4 nights + tax (12.5%) = $1935
versus a rental price of $744 for a savings of $1191

Two villas x 4 nights + tax (12.5%) = $3870
versus a rental price of $1488 for a savings of $2382

Any chance those dates are changeable?
To my knowledge, BWV is booked solid during the F&W festival, with a substantial waiting list. Prior to offering the reservation for rent, I called Member Services several times trying to change the reservation to a time when our son could travel, with no luck. I borrowed the points forward to make our reservation, so any change would have to be for travel completed before the end of our current use year. When did you want to travel?

Oct 11-15 but we'd be happy in ANY studio, if that helps?

I just got off the phone with Member Services. There is no availability at any resort from October 11-15. I also checked again about possibly altering the existing reservation to add nights at the beginning or end. There is currently availability for a Boardwalk View Studio for Oct 16-17, so the reservation could be "slid" forward by two days. However, this would be two different room categories, and so a room change would be required to add or change to those additional nights. There is still no availability for dates following the current checkout.

Honestly, it's extremely difficult to alter or make new DVC reservations during October. It's just a great time to travel to Disney, so the dates book up very quickly.

Both BWV studio villas are still available, either to rent together or separately. Travel dates are for a great long weekend... check in on Thursday, October 18, and check out on Monday, October 22.

May be interested in 1 studio. Just checking the calender, flights etc.
Will get back to you asap. Is $744. total cost or + tax ? How do you want payment, and what paperwork do I recieve.
Never rented DVC before, so its new to us. Whats the check in procedure. Can we use ME?

Thanks,

Hi Syndrome,

The quoted price is the total amount I would charge for your use of the reservation.

Payment is in advance, via PayPal. I would send you a payment request that confirms the travel dates, the reservation number, and all information regarding the travel arrangements. From this, you would make payment. Within a few hours after payment is received, I would forward you a link to the web confirmation that is provided by Disney. This Disney page provides you with the reservation number as well as documentation of your travel dates and accommodations.

Anytime you rent via a DVC member, there is some risk for each party. I am taking a risk because I am responsible for any damage you or your party may cause in the villa. I would also be responsible if you skipped out on any bill while you are staying as my DVC "guest". You are taking a risk because you are prepaying for a reservation over which you have no actual control. While you can certainly see the confirmation page and verify that the reservation exists, you are trusting that I will not cancel your reservation at the last minute. Whether you rent from me or from another member, it is safest to look for someone who has a positive Disboards posting history over a significant period of time. Also, you can look back through the member's past posts and search for evidence of renting history (past posts in the Rent/Trade forum, etc.). That way, you will know if they have had positive renting experiences in the past. Of course, there are lots of honest DVC members who will not already have a renting history... because everybody has a first time to rent out points!... but looking for this history can give you a better assurance of safety. You will also see some folks who offer a contract for the rental. However, in all frankness, a contract does little to assure your reservation will go off without a hitch. Here's why... It would cost more in legal fees to pursue a lawsuit over a broken contract between different states than the actual value of the reservation. A contract for such a small amount realistically does not provide much protection for either party.

Check in is just like for any resort reservation... provide your identification at the front desk upon check in. There is still time to arrange Magical Express, but the deadline is approaching soon. You need to give Disney enough time to process the request and send your luggage tags and vouchers.

If you have more questions, please let me know. You could post here or send a message via PM or email (EVEYBL@AOL.COM).

Thanks for getting back to me Evey. Those are great dates to go, we went the exact same time last year. F&W was great.
I see BWV has a few different kind of studios. Would this one have the daybed? What is "garden view"? At 62 points, isn't that the boardwalk / prefered view? Standard view is 48 points ??? Maybe I am looking at things wrong since I am new to this DVC thing.
Sorry, just a few questions as we are trying to figure out airfare and such. The daybed would be nice, it would be 2 adults, a 2 kids 16 and 10. Think we would fit o.k.? For $744 it works with the budget!

Thanks,

Hello again,

The confirmation reads "Garden View"... which is a preferred view. When I made the initial reservation, I requested a Village Green location, which is our personal favorite. You have a partial view of the boardwalk from the Village Green rooms without all of the extra noise. Of course, a request is never a guarantee... so I cannot predict where the room will actually be located other than that it will be a "preferred" location overlooking a garden somewhere within Boardwalk Villas. I don't know all the in's and out's of how the reservations are worded within the DVC system, but I do know that we have always requested "Preferred" with a garden view and have always been very pleased. All of the studio villas are equipped with a queen-size bed and a sleeper sofa. They also have a small refrigerator and a kitchenette type space with a sink, cupboard with utensils and dishes, and a microwave. You will also have a balcony and obviously a full bath. There's plenty of space to accommodate four people.

Just saw this post!! Is this still available? I'm traveling with 3 other women 10/18-21. Could the check out date be changed???? I have to check with the ladies but this sounds great! :)

Hi Evey,
Thanks, just got some more of the information you sent me.
We will take one of the Studios. It will be a great way to "try" out DVC as we are thinking on buying anyway. Cant pass up the time frame ! Food and Wine Fest is awesome that time of year, as is the World in general. The Boardwalk is a great place to stay, nice and close to Epcot. We have stayed at Beach Club already and spent a lot of time walking around the boardwalk!
I did see some floorplans of the BWV Studios that had a daybed besides the couch. Anyway you could add a request to the res. ?

Thanks, I will PM you all of our info.
You have been great in answering all of the DVC questions. We are new to the whole DVC thing, but we go to WDW just about every year.
