I desperately need 6 points to complete a Feb. 2011 vacation, but will take up to 30 if available. Member services said points from a March 2010 account, any resort, would be safe.

Why don't you just purchase them from Disney. They will allow a one time purchase of up to 24 points to complete a reservation.

I wish I could. I need the points to wait list one night and they won't allow you to rent points for a wait list.
