Funny you would say that, because we are ALWAYS teasing Arminda that she has a Botson accent! She must get it from you!!!

My niece Casey, she has a Southern accent. She's lived in Michigan her whole life, but every now and then, a distinct Southern voice comes out of that little mouth!

Courtney has a guinnea pig accent though!

I just serged the ends of the stress and straight stitched over the lace. I was debating whether to use a straight or zig-zag but it was tiny, thin lace so I just did a tight straight stitch.

Ainsley is driving me crazy this morning. She just can't wait to go to her "balentimes party" and show off her new dress. We still have another 20 minutes before we can leave. On the other hand it is nice to know she appreciates my work.

your children are absolutely adorable! That red hair is just perfection! (I'm an Irish girl so I'm partial to the red heads!) I love the way little ones will use "m" sounds in place of "n" sounds. My stepson still calls pancakes "PAMcakes". It's so cute I just can't correct him...even though he's fixin to be seven here pretty quick! Maybe he'll say until he's at least 18 just to humor me!

So I was thinking this morning that maybe instead of just posting a few random pics and post maybe I should let you guys get to know me... Hello! I'm Tina I am a stay-at-home mom to a 2 year old DD and a wifey. I currently live in Silvis IL. But was raised in Virginia beach Where I meet my hubby when I was working as a Hair Stylist. We ended up moving to Longveiw TX for a year before coming to IL. I would say I like it here but that would be a lie! I have not adjusted well with people or the area. Which has put a damper on my moods! It is very lonely not knowing anyone or having Family around. So I am very excited to be going to WDW in march with my family, parents, and my brother and his family! I have been sewing off and on since I was in middle school. I am not great by any means but my DH family is very impressed with my ability to look at something and then remake it. My family has always been crafty so to me its just another thing? I have a goal to work out and sew and keep my house spotless and be the best mom and wife I can be but untill I figure out how to make my body do what my mind wants I am just here. Ok so neways! I just love that I found this board it keeps me excited and a place to feel at home. Thank you for letting me be a part of your group!

I just mailed my niece and nephew a box of clothes for WDW and thought dang why didn't I take pictures first? Well I will have lots of pics when we get back. Till then I have 2 girly pirate outfits to make, 1 pink minnie dress, lots off bows and stuff. Channel me some energy to get it done I have been fighting a cold and don't feel like doing anything! Ok well I think that is enough for one day.

Well since you complimented me (btw, I also apparently remind Heather and your mom of your relative Myrna????...still hoping that you guys LIKE that relative)

That is too precious. I had a "best boy" from the age of two. He witnessed my big sister being mean to me once and he came running to my defense shouting "DON'T YOU BE MEAN TO MY WIFE! I LOVE HER!!!" He was all of four!

alas...we didn't get married...broke up when we were seven... but I know he still carries a torch for me...his little daughter has my middle name...a coincidence? I think not...

I know what you mean about Becca. You know I KNEW that these were sick kids, but I didn't really believe that something was going to happen to any of them. You know? Becca is just sooo sooo sweet and wonderful. This is just killing me inside. I can honestly say that I love that little girl. I'm so glad I was able to contribute to her Give too.

I think y'all are amazing for the work you do!! You are doing something that means so very much to children who need every ounce of joy they can get. I'm also so worried for Becca. I'm glad she was able to enjoy her Disney trip and all wonderful gifts given to her by the Big Give. I hope she'll be better very soon.

My daughter is asking for a disney custom. I am really stumped. She doesn't like appliques on T shirts or jeans and wears a sz 10/12 girls. Our trip is late Nov early dec so weather wise the dress I had looked at that she liked on YCMT is out. Is there a long sleeve peasant top with gaucho pattern anywhere in big girls? I stink at adapting a sz 10 pattern bigger, would rather larger like a small womens cut down.

YouCanMakeThis.com has a knot dress pattern that is the same as the Matilda Jane Knot dress, but you would have to add the apron to the dress without a pattern. HTH

I just made my daughter a Valentine dress by altering Carla C's stripwork jumper from youcanmakethis.com. It wasn't difficult to alter and her patterns are very versatile.

I need HELP!! My machine is driving me crazy, the bobbin thread won't raise! I've raised the bobbin thread a million times, I have no idea what is different this time. I got out my machine manual and followed the instructions to the letter. I even had my DH (no seamstress, but a fresh pair of eyes) come and try. We can't get the thread to come up and I need to sew about 4 outfits for a baby shower gift by Saturday! Any ideas on how to get the bobbin thread to rise? What am I doing wrong?

Hiya! To answer your questions, one of us has to manually approve you. If I recognize the username, I usually just click "register" and then you don't need to verify your email. But, if I'm not real sure, I will usually click "verify" then you'll be sent an email you will have to verify. Anyway, the point is, one of the administrators (me, Heather, Jessica, Jeanne, Heather, T-beri) has to do it. So, if you sign up for the board and see one of us online here, you can send us a PM asking us to approve you.

Tina, I have no idea about the code, but I do know that I just went in and changed your account from "pending" to "registered" so, all you have to do is login.

I was always glad when I felt sick when I was pregnant! I figured something was happening in there if it was making me feel so horrible!!! You should have seen how happy I was when I actually threw up when I was pregnant with Arminda!!! With Corey, I only felt nausious, but never threw up, I did lose 15 pounds in the first month though.

Ugh.... OK just have to have a mini vent non sewing related. (sorry) I just got off the phone with Ex-dh (soon to be) Can you believe it will be a year next month. Lately I have been really sad and depressed about the whole thing. On Georgia's birthday it was super hard since we did it together. but we played nice for the Peach. But it just made it that much more difficult you know playing happy family then going to different homes. Just sucks, specially since I was not the one who wanted this split. Even though I know its for the best, doesnt make it any easier. Tomorrow is the Special person's day at school, she picked her dad. Which I think is great. Because I am here and I get to do the school things with her so its nice he is taking the time off to do this with her. But just another "happy unfamily family" moment. Then they are gonna go home to his home. In which I do not have a problem with because she needs to see her dad. That has nothing to do with me being sad. I wish he could spend time with her during the week. My sad comes from being alone. I hate it. and Im not looking for anyone, but at the same time I dont know what to do with myself. These long weekends kill me. Nothing to do with Valentines day as an adult I never celebrated it myself (I think love should be daily not just one day) she has monday off too. My roomie is out of town so no distraction there, and all my friends (the few I have locally) are off with their special people. Just makes me sad.

Ok mini vent over...sorry for being a whinner. Back to cutting and sewing!
