HI everyone! I Just wanted to share some pictures of the Birthday girl at the Zoo today. They have a place across the street called Fairytale Town and then another place called Funderland. She had a blast today.

Here are the horse cup cakes I made this morning

I love the cupcakes!!! They look so cute!!
Georgia looks so happy with her new camera!! It looks like you guys had a really fun day!

Hi Guys!

I somehow managed to read 5 pages and no one in my family has made a peep this morning yet.

I love all the fabric pictures posted. I am quite jealous of the VHC and would love to see the Brown Bear!

We had a GREAT day yesterday! We ran into Cindee, Morgan and her husband in tomorrowland. Dallas and Morgan hit it off and were holding hands skipping around! They rode the TTA together and then we headed to the flag pole for a mini meet a bit early. Tom and Leighanna then came over to say hello and the kids played eye spy and tag for quite a while! Oh, BTW, Morgan's skirt that she picked the fabrics for was darling! And she the cutest matching shirt that just happen to match. And Leighanna had on her princess feliz, wow! what a beauty is all I can say!

Then up comes Kristine and Stacy, they happen to notice the kids! Good eyes! They had to run off to eat but caught up with us later on to watch Wishes. And then we see Steph with kids in tow under the flagpole, so Jacob and Megan joined in the fun and games. By then Cathy (or it with a K) called and was looking for us, so I paraded the kids around hoping she would see us, she didn't because we didn't walk far enough, but ended up finding us just a few minutes later. And we all watched the parade together. Headed up the street to see Wishes and then Kristine and Stacy came back. After that Dallas was having a great time riding rides with his new best friends Kristine and Stacy!

There are a couple who we didn't see and hopefully we didn't miss them (hard to know what someone looks like, especially with no kids in tow!). But we'll them today!

Rumor is that Heather and Jeanne were whooping it up at Downtown Disney! Hopefully Tessa kissed Luke and Jeanne got a birthday shirt!!! :cheer2:

So, anyone who has a chance to meet up with others, definately do it! I had the best evening and think Dallas did too!

Back to regular sewing now!

It sounds like such fun!!!! HEY when did Cindee get married!!!???!!! How dare she not tell me! ;)
I hope you got lots of pictures!!!
Yes, Heather was suppose to be meeting with the Hammling crew last night! I bet they all had fun too!!!

I hope a few of us can meet up in May while we are there! Apparently, Morgan is already making some park plans for us!!! :rotfl2:

Oh if you find one in IL I will meet you! I asked my brother to ask his friends if they know of anyplace in the city. His good friend designs textiles problem is they are VERY $$$$ textiles. I said I need a place for Cheap stuff! LOL
I love them all! that is one of my fav color combos! I don't think you could really go wrong with any of those.

You would think there would be one SOMEWHERE around, wouldn't you! Yes, I'm looking for cheap too! Like the one Anna found! That is about 9 hours from me though! I maped it out when she posted it!
Here is my take on a Hannah Montana shirt. Originally I planned to have the writing (which I got from a HM calender of Nikki's)actually embroidered on the shirt but I was in the restroom and my machine thread broke:scared1: and I couldn't figure out how to go back and start it where it left off because the machine kept sewing and didn't stop where it broke. So I tried to gently use my old friend the seam ripper and it wasn't being very nice! So I decided to just embroider the lettering on a fabric and applique it on. Once I embroider the fabric I realized the material was WAY too thin. UGH! I had already spent all day Friday trying to make it just right but it gave me nothing but issues so I decided to just use it as is.:confused3

th_IMG_0789.jpg

ignore the white stripe in between the guitars I also originally was going to have the Rock and Roll part of the lettering in between them so that was my soap marking and it will wash out.

I love that!!! Those guitars look great and I think the lettering turned out really nice!! Then, I had to go searching for the elusive "white mark" that you mentioned!!! I finally found it after much searching!!!

This gives me an idea for an outfit for Arminda. I promised her a Rock N Rollercoaster outfit last year and didn't get to it.

LOL! You're famous!! I knew it was here somewhere, but I always have trouble with the search feature on the disboards. I guess I should have thought to click your link first. I always find everything else I need there :)

Yes, that's me, the famous Teresajoy!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: There is a search function in my bookmarks, which usually works good, if you can figure out my labeling logic!!!

Good to see you back Lisa! I was just thinking last night that you mentioned trying some Christmas stockings and I wondered if you did that and how it turned out?

Like too many of my ideas, that one stayed as just an idea. LOL I definitely want to give it a try this year but ran out of time for 2008. We had a crazy December with record snowfall of about 18" total. I know that isn't a big deal for many some areas of the country but I think our previous record for snow on the ground on Christmas day was a trace of snow. Worst yet, I couldn't even get to the local fabric shops or post office and we went without mail delivery for a week or so. That threw my business schedule off and I feel like I'm finally getting back on track.

Its good to you around!
So, you were affected by the crazy snow too.
My in-laws live in the Portland area and were actually stuck in the house for almost two weeks as they couldn't get down the hill they live on....except for on foot :)
we had more than usual also, from what we picked up about once every ten years or so the region gets that kind of a snow.... we got to sled in our own front yard....granted we don't have sleds....we used laundry baskets :thumbsup2

Just got back from Micheal's - they expanded the area they have for $1 items to a whole isle labeled "Under $5" - with lots Disney princess, tinkerbell and HSM stuff as well as lots of fun things I picked up and put back because a dozen or more $1, $2 and $3 items add up..... I am trying to save up for Sew Expo in a few weeks. But I did get some cute ribbon with the Alphabet on it...bright green background the red squares and pink letters.... Looks better than it sounds I promise. And they had "Disney's Magical World of Reading" books, Bambi, Dumbo, Robin Hood, and 101 Dalmations... for $1 each. They are thin paperbacks, but my kids are thrilled.

It is beautiful!! I am sure Hannah will love it too!

Cute Birthday Girl stuff!

I made a bag!
Its the first nice, grown up bag I have made.....
I made my kids really simple totes, but this is the first time I have used interfacing and I used a pattern I got so many years ago that I can't remember. So, now I can say it was worth it :)
So I accidentally deleted the pics, but I love the bag! The fabric combo is great too!

Do you talented ladies have room in your group for someone new? I'm a Disney Vacation buff (we live in WA and go at least twice a year), but just now venturing into the land of sewing/applique as I have a two year old and am going broke buying for her on ebay/etsy. :)

I have stayed up way, way too late reading a bajillion threads and looking at too many adorable things. But I had a question for you that I was hoping you'd be able to help me with. I've found some applique/embroidery designs on etsy that I want to purchase, but I'm looking to also purchase some of the common ones I see on so many designs on ebay - specifically, the mickey head sillhouette with a chef hat on, or a pirate's scarf, or a princess hat. Do you know which ones I mean? I'd post a link to some auctions but I think that's against the rules. :)

I have searched several different ways on ebay/etsy for them, and while I have found some, I haven't found the few I'm looking for. I know that Disney is pretty tight on regulating their brand, so I'm wondering if I'm searching for the wrong thing? Should I be searching for them using some secret non-Disney speak or something? ;)

Sincere thanks to anyone at all who can help me!! :)
No help, but Welcome!!

Won't wear the bows! Doesn't she know how cute she looks! How old is she? My DD9 will wear a bow if it is pulled back into one ponytail. She still loves the plain or embelleshed tee or tank top with a matching custom skirt. I know I probably only have a year left though because she's in fourth grade now and when she gets to middle school (6th grade) I think she would get laughed out of school for the look. Actually, she'll be in a uniform for school, but outside of school it will be too "uncool." Glad to hear about the laundry, makes me feel a little better. And I agree, I hate dirty dishes laying around.
I have nothing to say about this comment, but I wanted to remind myself to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your new bundle is absolutely beautiful and perfect! I hope you are enjoying every minute!

Okay, here we go!

And I finally figured out how to get three large shirts to hang nicely on my clothes line!

101_9065.jpg
I love love love your shirts! I wish I could applique like you!

Nik in the shorts set i just made her. Daisy had to be in the picture and actually was trying to steal the limelight!

IMG_0786.jpg
Love it!

Ok guys here are too many pictures. First up are the BIG GIVE pics.

The first one is for Aiden. This is his Superman romper complete with detachable cape. Now I was very worried about the cape getting caught on something and accidentally choking him so it has velcro. I learned that from watching The Incredibles. And for those who are wondering Yes that is the reason it has velcro instead of snaps.
S2010257.jpg
Wow Crystal! Everything looks great! i loce the romper!!

This is Jenna's other Valentine's skirt. I need to finish the hem. I was thinking of adding lace, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think? I have pink or white lace.
S2010265.jpg
Love this too!!!

Thanks for the link! I joined the other day and saw the farbenmix order coming up! The only problem I have is waiting that long for the patterns!
I have a problem waiting for them too! I usually go order something from YCMT for instant gratification. lol

Ok I did it! I actually got around to sewing! WAHOOOOOOIE for me...and Georgia of course. hehe I made her birthday skirt. She loves it. She picked which colors went where and then told me she didnt want the white underskirt so I said okie dokie. I actually am really proud of myself on the the way it turned out. It was my first strip work skirt. HOWEVER...I do hate to gather but worth it in the end. I can only get better right?!?! haha so here it is.

Georgia wasn't in a picture taking mood, she was more in to the Wii instead. I will have more tomorrow on her birthday! Hopefully it won't be raining too much for our zoo trip.

Looks great!
Just wanted to share my Big Give shirt...I was so nervous with this...this is the first clothing I have made for anyone outside my family. I really stressed over it...but it's done! i am happy with the results.

Thanks for looking!:goodvibes
You did an awesome job!

Well, I just finished packing (still have that hoodie to put finish) and we are leaving from the soccer fields tomorrow straight for Disney! I think my husband is a little sad because he can't come with us. But he got to take Megan to the Father/Daughter dance tonight, so it's ok!

Thanks to everyone who commented when I first posted the dress. I cut three inches off the black fake-leather and I think it turned out cute. I used Carla's potrait peasant for the bodice and the costume pattern for the skirt. Megan did not like the hat and probably took it off at the first opportunity. I can't wait until they get home so I can hear all about it.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Steph, you did a freakin' awesome job with this dress! It looks just perfect!

I've been in lurking mode for awhile (sorry!) as my sewing machine was "under the weather" for a good half a year. Finally got it all worked out though. I've sewn a few things since my DD's dozen bakers hats from her birthday party.

Anyway, I wanted to share my mom's birthday gift. I wasn't sure how this would turn out, so I made a prototype for my kiddos AG dolls (forgot to take a pic of that!) and then crossed my fingers and gave it a shot in human size!

(my photographer is six, so please bear with the photos!)
apron-1.jpg
This is a great apron!!! I love it!

Here is what I bought yesterday on my fabric day! I used money I made selling some scrapbooking stuff. Had a blast! Dh almost had a heart attack when I told him I spent all my money! HEHE!:cool1:

I found Very Hungry caterpiller! They also had Brown bear but I will get that next time!
DSCF0760.jpg
Fabric shopping makes me happy too!!! My fave is the Very hungry caterpillar!
I have been wanting some so bad to make diapers out of!!

OT because I didn't make DD's dress, but I wanted to share a few pics anyway. We were on the waiting list for a ticket to the Daddy Daughter Dance and I found out about 5pm the night before the dance. I opted to save myself some stress and buy a dress. However, I did get it at a steal. It was on the clearance rack for $11. The only thing I made was the updo :)

Here is my beautiful little 6yr old all grown up.

She is just beautiful!

I mostly lurk, but wanted to share my accomplishment today with those who may understand my giddiness. My husband was kind enough to grant me what we've termed a "Mommy vacation" day. Mommy's in the house but... unavailable.

I spent a good portion of the day making my oldest daughter's valentine dress and adding to it...my FIRST applique.

But I love how it turned out, just like I pictured it in my head.

Thanks for letting me share!

Laura

Hey, Heather just called me from the Dismeet!!! She passed me on to Jessica, Kristine, and Jeanne, then Tessa got hold of the phone and that was the end of my Disboutiquers talking! :sad2: Apparently, Luke gave her a kiss on the cheek, and she needed to let me know though! :lovestruc It sounds like they are all having a lot of fun!!! I wish I was there!!! Everyone sounded SOOO nice and sweet!!!!

We just got back from the Dismeet!

Teresa-I got some VERY cute pics of Sawyer, and I got to sit next to your Mom at dinner :cool1:.

We got to meet some really nice people and the kids had a great time playing together. Morgan had a blast playing with Dallas and Leighanna and Mr. T!

The time went so fast! I got to speak to Piper for such a short time before I got called away. Jayden was very sweet and Little was just adorable! Sawyer was REALLY have fun with a cupcake LOL.

I missed a picture of Cathy and Heather smootching Jord:guilty: But did get a pic of them giving Jord rabbit ears:scared1:

I love the bowling shirt pattern that I see on here all the time with the different panels in it. However, it doesn't go up to a big enough size. How could I create my own from a regular button up shirt pattern?? (Andrew takes a size 10)

I MUST see pictures of Sawyer!!! You need to post them!! It's not nice to tease me like that! Isn't my Mom wonderful!!! :lovestruc Jeanne said she was going to steal her and take her home! I guess when Luke and Tessa get married, she will sort of be like her Mom.. sort of ...

Aww, sweet little Jord! I miss her!

It sounds like you guys were having a blast!

We are having a blast, but wish everyone else could be here. I am too tired to type, but we had alot more fun today! It was so nice talking with you Teresa! And I got to sit next your mom for fireworks! I don't think Sawyer likes me though, he hides every time he sees me.

Hi Guys,

Glad you had fun - cant wait to hear more details!!

Here is a picture of my cousins little one wearing the simply sweet I made for her!! Everyone oohed and aahhed over her at church this morning - she looked so cute!!
