Closed last week and waiting. Favor please?

We closed last week on our contract and are anxiously waiting to get into the system. Could I ask one of you wonderful DISer's for a BIG favor please? Would any of you be willing to call and check some availability for us? We're planning on going Aug. 18-26. We're looking for a 2-bdrm at either OKW or AKV for the 18-23. Then for the 23-26, we would need a Studio at OKW or AKV.

If anyone could check this for me, I would be GREATLY appreciative. TIA!!!!!

Someone could check but it's pointless. What's there today may be gone tomorrow. On the other side, today may show no availability and tomorrow someone cancels.

About a year ago, I was told that our request was available and before the advisor processed our reservation, some of the dates were gone.

I totally understand and appreciate that. We should be in the system by the end of the week and I was just wondering what might still be available.

I don't think you'll have a problem if you're willing to change resorts if necessary. Points go down mid-August which makes it a desirable time for those whose kids aren't back to school yet.

With resale you still have a couple of weeks to wait. Your paper work still needs to be processed by Membership Administration and then Membership Services. Don't wait for MS to contact you, start calling as soon as you get the phone number from your agent. MS can look you up by your name and SSN. Once they have completed your processing, they can give you your membership number and web access information over the phone.

I'm just guessing at this point but I bet that OKW will have some 2 bdrms/studios for those dates. AKL is supposed to be pretty booked from what I've heard but you should be fine with OKW. In fact, I have to call tomorrow to check on that time frame myself so I will report back If you travel that time again, I have had great luck getting anything I wanted at the 7 month mark in the past few years. That may change, but I had no problems.
