Great pictures of the construction WDWKOOK, thanks for sharing! Does anybody know what is actually going in the splash pad area? My son loved all the fish at AoA at their splash area last year, I'm sure it won't disappoint. If nobody knows let's just guess lol! My vote is for a spitting moose or a school of salmon that occasionally spray water lol! Any other guesses?!!

Late Winter Passholder discounts came out today.

Call center did not see it but it is online.

No standards or courtyard available but woods view to cv/wv bunk beds running $234 to $261

Club Standard is $346.

(I'm at a value in Jan for a solo trip but thought I'd check out WL and let you guys know just in case).

I'm sorry that I haven't been getting the updates and pictures posted right away. But I can report that the sawing and hammering that we saw this morning was for the forms that surround the splash pad and this rectangular building that is near it. The placement of the forms means that they're getting closer to pouring the concrete. There should be some significant progress soon.

The Trout Bar hasn't been worked on at all since we were there last month. We can't tell whether or not it will be a zero entry pool because that area is blocked from view.

But the WL is just as wonderful as always. We are very glad we didn't switch resorts.

Awe, thanks so much for posting what you do. We certainly do appreciate any information that's given. Looks like they are coming along well. On a positvie note- we paid of our trip in full!! Such a great feeling!! :)

So I'm planning a trip that's two years off.... I know I know.... A long time away. But that's because I currently have an eighteen month old so I want to wait until I feel like he can really enjoy it. I hesitate to post because I don't want to seem like a crazy lady.... Lol

But I do have a question. Are travel times to the resorts good from WL? I mean I obviously need a resort that we can come back to and nap after long mornings in the park to avoid baby meltdowns. I want to stay somewhere close.

Another question I have is how are the two bedroom villas? Like, don't like? My mom is coming with us and she wants her own room... We need something nice since this is a dream trip For us. We've wanted to go for years.... Tia for any ideas advice!!!!

I know it's all speculation but......my trip ends on Nov. 26 and sadly, the construction ends on Nov. 27.

Anyone think they may open it up in sections? OR that maybe they are ahead of schedule and we will be able to see the finished product before coming home? :confused3

Welcome! Just wanted to let you know, my sons first trip was at around 17 months and he had the time of his life!!! He loved meeting the characters and the rides!! We had a double stroller and whenever he needed a nap, he fell asleep, and my DH and I took turns going on rides with DD. Every day, we'd go back to the hotel for a good nap and lunch. Although he might not remember the trip, we have incredible memories! Don't be afraid to take a little one, they might enjoy it more than you realize! Good luck planning!!!

Before I get to multi-quoting, I just received some photos from hstrickland:goodvibes. Her DH, Bill, took them this morning. (Thank you, Bill!) I don't have any comments to go with the photos, so they'll have to speak for themselves. Thank you to WoodNymph for posting photos and comments:thumbsup2

Awesome pics! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see how it all turns out! :cool1:

I asked this morning and was told that the pool would be a zero entry pool

:scratchin Why yes it is.... I wonder if they were there at the same moment in time??? ;) Or perhaps great minds think alike:thumbsup2

Dare I even suggest (of course I will) that Bill, umm, gonefishin' (is that his DIS username?) and WoodNymph might have been taking that picture at the exact same time? Coincidence? I think not!
The only section of the construction area that is open to viewing is a small section that you see in the pictures. So that is why they all look the same. :)

I don't think they'll open it in sections. The splash pad is at the back of the area. I think they'll finish the whole pool area first. But they might open it up before the Trout Bar is finished.

That's good to know. Maybe you can find out more about the progress. Those club level CM's might have some good information. :)

We were at the villas pool this afternoon around 4pm and it wasn't too crowded. There was about 20-30 people, half of them kids with their parents. Lots of open chairs.

I have 2 res at WL next week. The first is a room only then we check in for our free dining res.

1. For the BB passes, if I request it during the first check in, will it expire the day we "check out" or can it stay on our band throughout our entire stay?
2. Has anyone besides WoodNymph received the $50 per night room discount? If so, is this an either/or thing? BB or $50/night?
3. I called WL last night to link our two res so we hopefully will not have to switch rooms. The CM told me that I could just tell them when we check in. Is this true? :confused3

Sorry for the questions! Just wanna get everything squared away before next week. :hyper:

1. You do not have to ask the first day for the tickets we had them added a couple of days later when we wanted them. They showed up on MDE as Blizzard Beach or Typhon Lagoon tickets. I have not heard of anyone trying them for TL however. I would only ask at the first part if that is when you plan on going.

2. We called Disney ahead to get the $50 discount. At the beginning of the conversation we were told to ask at checkin however we pushed further and got it added then. We had been in a standard view room and were upgraded to woods view at checkin. Everyone is impacted by the constuction so everyone qualifies for the credit.

We requested the $50 credit at check in. Our reservation was 4 nites CL plus 2nights standard room. We were upgraded to CL for the additional 2 night and our credit was applied toward that.

You should be able to avoid changing rooms with no problem especially if the reservations are for the same type of room. You will probably still have to go down to front desk and officially check out and then check back in, that is what we were told to do. This is because although you will keep the same room it is still 2 separate reservations.

The $50 credit is not just for those w/pool views it is for anyone as a compensation for not having the "feature pool" available during your stay. The smaller pool is open and had not been too crowded but it is not the same as having the larger pool. You are also welcome to use pools at CR and Ft. wilderness.

I too was honored the $50 discount a night for our 6 night stay in Sept along with BB tickets. I also came up for a weekend in Oct and was honored the $50 a night. I noticed it was much easier the first time. I asked about BB tickets and the $50 a night at check-in and received both no questions asked. We too were upgraded to club level with a fantastic view of bay lake and MK fireworks.

When I returned in Oct for a short 2-night stay I inquired about the $50 a night and BB tickets and I was told I had to choose one. I didn't make a stink about it as I had no plans to visit BB anyway as I was there specifically for food and wine but I was surprised.

I think it depends on the manager that is there at the time. I think if I pressed the issue I would have received the BB tickets on top of the $50 a night.

Btw, in Sept I was over TL tickets or BB tickets. Funny how we all are choosing he BB tickets! Lol

One more thing, I never called ahead of time for these requests. I did them at check in.

Our daughter checked in late last night and when we asked for the $50 credit the CM gave us a little bit of an argument, saying "didn't you know about the pool construction'? I responded that they are giving guests the credit and then she agreed to apply it. We're not interested in the BB tickets. Our daughter got a free upgrade to a courtyard view instead of standard view, which was nice. But they have to switch rooms today.

Well it is great she's there now and you saved a little extra too. I hope she gets a great room, you gotta love CV at Std pricing.

Have a great time! We can't wait to hear about it.

Hi Everyone!

We are staying at WL the week after Thanksgiving! Will there be a lot of campsites decorated for Christmas at Fort Wilderness that early in the season?

Thank you for all the great information on this thread!

I just called WDTC and was denied the room credit. Stating that I was "made aware of the construction at time of booking and therefore forfeited any right to a discount, upgrade or extra due to the condition of the property."

......

I'll call back later.

What have you been up to?! You've missed some recent posts:rolleyes1. There was one with some Randy news and we'll actually be at BLT's neighbor, CR:goodvibes

Thanks a bunch for making me dig!!!:rolleyes2:p:sad2: Now I understand.

I've been here, just nothing to post. We're actually thinking about returning to our fav place in the Smokies in June instead and taking a trip to WL just DH and I next fall. We'll see.

I wonder if those getting it were booked before the notice was issued. They sprung this construction up very late in the game so lots of folks had booked without knowledge.

Hopefully some of the others who have gotten a discount can let you know if they booked before or after

I booked before it was announced. I also emailed a week before official notices went out and said rumor had it that there was a closed pool during my stay. I was assured that the pool would not be closed...... A week later got a different email.
