Lol! DS DID spend a lot of time on his phone! How'd you know? He also haunted the club lounge and enjoyed solo time at the parks.

All of my Mickey Mouse luggage is several years old and from the online Disney Store. They also sell the plastic ones (not the red ones any longer, I believe) at some of the stores at WDW, like in resort stores. They have some at The Mercantile, BVG at CR, etc… But, with the Disney Store, you can apply discount codes that are better than the onsite 10% off AP discount;)

OMG! I can't believe what I see before my bleary eyes. Behold! THE TICKER! Is this a CL ticker perchance? what are your dates?!

.

Yes, ma'am, it most definitely IS an CL ticker!!!!!
June 12-20, 2015 -- give or take

Let 's see if I can fit all my stuff into my new piece (that's singular :rotfl:) of luggage...

Disney Store no longer carries the red piece, but they do have this adorable piece!:thumbsup2 Thanks DH!

Looking up from our side door to access our rooms from walkway. If anyone is going soon, be sure to say hello to our frog family friends who live in the tree at the beginning of the boat walkway. I will post a pic of that when I find it.

I'm not sure about the specifics of the pail. I will try and get some for you.

I think that the plush you are talking about is the little bear that is like a hand puppet. They created a plush from the sculpture that is by the fire place. It 's the little bear that is hanging on the top. I love that little bear. Wish I had a photo but maybe someone does.

Kook - maybe you can get one next week please?

Oh, we don't have that one! See, I knew there would be new toys. I will keep an eye out. Thanks.

I will check after 6/25 and post plush photos. I remember you asked about Koda a while back and that's such a sweet story about your sick DD. I hope she's fully recovered by now.

Thanks! I would love to hear what you find. Koda is the little bear in the movie "Brother Bear." We got him at WL in 2007. "Humphrey," the bear from old Disney shorts who sits at the base of the totem pole, was available in 2010 and we have him too.
DD thankfully was just a victim of the dreaded Norwalk virus, or some other stomach bug. Koda fixed her all up and she is just fine!
I'll have to look out for the little fireplace bear, too.

We got this guy in the gift shop

He I'd a puppet.

Also, we got a wolf, an owl, and a smaller bear. These weren't puppets.

I can't understand changing resorts over a pool. Am I the only one that spends the majority of the time at the parks?? I don't get it. There is another pool available. There are two water parks. I think everybody needs to just relax. Obviously there is different info being given but is the status of the pool going to ruin your vacation?? I really hope not. I mean I have a photo shoot scheduled so I hope that whatever they're doing is over but if not we will figure it out.

I am glad that the pool closure won't impact your vacation (truthfully!) but for those of us that have built in pool time or pick resorts because of the amenities (like a pool) this does throw a serious wrench. I mean, if SAB was closed I would consider a different resort like BWI and still get the same benefits as well as a pool). For us, a good pool is a necessity (especially in mid Sept!) and while everyone is pointing out that the VWL pool will be open, it still means half the pool for the same amount of people. Not to mention people who paid for views overlooking the pool/Bay Lake and may see nothing but construction stuff... they could save a lot or get a better view booking a lower category and save money if they have advance notice. Also, saying people can visit water parks to replace pool time seems unfair - why should they have to spend more money on WP&M ticket? And, for those that just want to take a dip for an hour or so, WP is out of the question because it takes that long just to get there.

For me, the biggest gripe I have is short notice amd misinformation... it limits the ability to change if people want to. We really wanted to stay at WL to experience it but would willingly change to get a resort with a pool... but our options are exceedingly thin at the moment due to how close we are to our date. More notice would have helped us have options and make people feel less 'stuck' in a position.

Several years ago DS and I stayed at POP and they had a pool refurbishment that started the day after we got there. I received a letter at least 60 days out. It did not bother me since there were 2 other pools at the resort and POPs feature pool is nothing special. However at a deluxe the feature pool is special enough that it can make a difference in someones enjoyment of their stay.

Yes there are many other things to do at the resort. However frequent visitors need to think also about the perspective of those who may never go back to WDW. For them it is a big deal.

THIS!
This will be our second time staying at a Disney hotel. One of the reasons we picked a deluxe was for the feature pool - nothing against the mods but we like proximity and fun pools. I went online and priced some things out and we are stuck spending a lot more if we move.

I am truly frustrated with this situation... one of the reasons I keep going back to Disney is their great customer service. But, in situations like this, it seems they hold cards close for as long as possible and it makes things difficult for guests trying to make informed decisions. It's not like this came up in the last week - this has been planned for awhile. While I know it can be hard to pinpoint specific dates, just passing out general info on what's coming up would be beneficial on so many levels.

We are headed to WL next week, and I don't think I could be more excited!

So... All you experts... Tell me what we shouldn't miss while staying there. What is awesome/fantastic/amazing?? We'll be there for a week, so we have time to check out a lot (I hope!). :)

Thanks!

I can understand the pool closure being a non-issue for many, but for us it is a big deal. On our last visit (stayed at SS), we had ten day park tickets. We went to the pool on our MVMCP day. At the end of the trip we asked the kids what their favorite part of the vacation was. They all said it was swimming at the pool. This trip we planned on three pool days..

Oh wow! Love the bear!...if you don't mind my asking, how many gift cards should I set aside for that little gem? ;)

Greats pics...and thanks for all the updates! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I understand how families with kids must feel and especially for those August and September trips yikes it's so hot! I'm hoping all of you have a great vacation if not at the lodge then wherever you end up with your kiddos : )
As a Mom and Grandma I know what goes into planning and wanting the best trip you can plan for your families ... and how much the kids look forward to their disney trips.
