Only the side with the chairs right under the monorail beam was open. I can imagine that it gets pretty crowded due to the small size (but I did not watch fireworks from there).

We had a fantastic stay at BLT last October. So much so that we're planning another WDW vacation for January/February 2015!!!

I would like to add that BLT has ruined us for other locations, at least for while the kids are small. The fireworks, location, monorail, and theme can't be beat!!!

This trip looks like it could be 6, 8, or maybe 9 people. We stayed in 2BD MKV and were thinking of the same again (but renting points this time). Then I was looking at David's website and it's actually cheaper to rent 2 studios (if the 9th person doesn't come).

I'm curious about what might be easier to rent...2 studios or a SV 2BD (most likely the last week of January).

Like others have said, getting a standard view villa at less than 11 months out will be difficult especially if you plan on renting points from David. Often he doesn't have owners right at 11 months out to book these hard to get reservations. And the BLT studios are among the smallest of all the studios. When the sleeper sofa is opened up, there is almost no room between the queen bed and the double sleeper and between the sleeper andthe window. And there already very little room between the wall and the bed. Most of the space in the studio is in the bathroom, kitchenette and the entryway.

I don't know the reasoning behind it, but I do know that you won't be able to apply Gift Cards to your room when you check in. What we have done is every 2-3 days go to the front desk and apply them to any charges we have made up to that point. I've tried multiple times to have them applied at check in and have always been told they can't do it. I have also seen many others here on the DIS state the same thing.

I'm confused about this. We have a room-only reservation at CR for December. If we wait until the last night, can we apply the gift cards to the hotel cost then? Or are you unable to apply Disney gift cards to your hotel costs?

What the PP was taking about was the expenditures you charge to your KTTW card which is attached to your room. You can absolutely pay the amount due at check in on a room only reservation when you arrive. You just can't pay more than you owe. Like others I just go to the front desk (or concierge if staying CL) advert couple if days to pay my account balance from items I have charged to the room just to make sure they don't hit my credit card even though I believe your credit card is not charged until you accumulate $1500 in charges.

Yup! Absolutely. Just make sure you pay it off before your last night or they'll charge your credit card instead.

I seem to recall someone posting pics from room 4830 in the CR tower club and of COURSE now I can't find the darn thing amongst pages of the rooms!! I know it has to be someone watching this thread somewhere!! Please help!

We are looking to do a split stay at CBR/CR in the end of Aug but the room only discount doesn't include CR CL and we are really bummed. Any chance those rooms would be included at some point between now and then?

Funny I ran into just the opposite for free dining in September. ONLY CL was available for my dates. I wanted Garden Wing.

Our CL room with AP disc did not open up until about 2-3 weeks before our Dec trip. Just keep checking, rooms open up every day.

With a room-only booking, payment in full is due at check-in.

Your room will be located on the 12th floor. There are really only a few requests you could make:

~An odd numbered room will have the beds facing toward the castle as you're seated in bed.

~Some ask to be located away from Chef Mickeys.

~And, some ask for a room without a connecting door (though I don't know how many rooms like yours exist w/o a connecting door.)

I am a newbie to the threads with a few questions about the Contemporary Resort.

We are heading on our families' first trip to WDW next spring around this time. I had gone one as a kid and stayed at the Contemporary and loved it. Granted, 20 years have passed but I am hoping to be able to take my family back there. However I do have a couple of basic questions about the resort.

Are the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower separate hotels?
Can anyone get a room at BLT?
Do the rack rates ever get discounted?
