So yeah, on the Villas side, the elevators go straight from the ground floor (entrance by the clown pool and the gym) all the way up to the fifth floor. The lobby is on the second floor, and there you could pass through to the Inn side (for they person who asked) and as was said, there are three elevators, and we usually find they are pretty quick.

On the Inn side, the main elevator banks start on the lobby (2nd) floor and go up. (Actually, it's been a while. Do they go to the first floor on the inside by the quiet pool?) Around the corner from those, by the Belle Vue lounge if I remember correctly, is a separate elevator that only goes from the first to second floor and that's it. The first floor lets you out to the left of the big stairs looking in from the boardwalk, like straight back from Flying Fish (it's fairly hidden.) That one elevator that only goes the one floor seems to be REALLY slow.

They had very poor elevator design overall when they built both the BWI and BWV. Both should have also had elevators at the far points and not just by the lobby!

this is a veryinteresting question. to get to the Inn quiet pool from the villas side, we always would go up to the lobby, walk by the Bell Vue lounge, and then go down the stairs to the inner courtyard. or from the boardwalk, we would go in that" hidden "entranceway and either use that elevator there or go up the belle vue stairs, and then have to go back down again.

we always thought it was strange that there was no 1st floor entrance to the quiet pool courtyard. but there HAS to be, for handicapped persons.

Technically the cottages are on the first floor, but those don't really count for your question. :)

So, wait, I'm still confused. I know the exit to the left of the steps to which you referred. So if you have that exit and you are already on the first floor of the Inn side, why do you have to go up and then down on the BW side? Am I being dense? I think it's about time I expand my horizons and explore the Boardwalk outside of my little Villas world :rotfl2:

exactly my confusion. we always thought it was strange that you had to go aup and then down again. (like if you are at the Inn pool but zip over to the luna pool or seashore to refill the mugs). we thought "you MUST be abe to walk through somewhere?"

About the elevator situation (I'm the op), my sister uses an ECV and this is how it went with a first floor room on the Inn side:
Leave room and go to bank of 3 elevators and go up to 2nd floor. Get off eleavator , go past lounge to the elevator in the corner and go down to 1st floor. I tried to find a direct route just being on first floor, but couldn't find one. I appreciate everyone trying to figure out if there isn't one or if I just missed it. At least I now know if the lounge elevator has a long wait to go past the lobby to the Villas elevators. Thanks for the tip. Looking forward to our trip Oct 13-16 for F & W.

We could get to the quiet pool by going out a door about 15 ft from our door. Could even see it from our patio. The large pool we would have to have gone the water did to the boardwalk. Up one elevator and down another. Again- unless I missed a shortcut. It was our first visit to BW and most of our time was spent at DHS. So we didn't have much of a chance to see everything at the resort in only 2 days (Sat and Sun). Thanks again for trying to help. I'm just trying to figure out room request because our Oct trip will include Pop who will also be using an ECV.

Can't you just go out that door to the left of the stairs leading up to the lobby from the boardwalk, then go through the opening by the fitness center and arcade?

That is what I am trying to find out. Which is why I appreciate all the tips I'm getting. At least it gives me a place to look. We didn't go to the quiet pool so I don't know. We only went back to the room for showers and sleep.

Just got back from a 5 night stay at BWI, and I'm in love with this resort! I can't say enough good things about it.

We were in room 3323, and I was concerned when we got off the elevator, and saw 3323 was the LAST # on the sign after hearing how long the halls were, and our room was the VERY last on the 3rd floor. But I did not find the walk bad at all, and there was a stairwell right by our room that came out right by the quiet pool which was perfect.

Also, we had about 1/4 balcony... barely fit one chair so that was disappointing.

CM's were all super, and I loved the atmosphere on the Boardwalk, and all there was to do! Will definitely be back!

Congrats!! Enjoy! Once you get the APs, you'll find you'll want to add on and go even more. :thumbsup2

Not adding on. But why do we get so freakin' excited even though we've been so many times already? Does that ever wane?

Checking in on the 6th for our first stay at BWV. Nine days and counting! I love having a DVC ownership (took a long time to get it!). Can't wait to experience staying there! Have a 1 BR garden/pool view booked. Wished for a Boardwalk view, but no luck! Had to cancel vacation in May due to surgery and I'm sooooo excited to get there, scooter and all!!!

We made our reservations tonight using DVC Points we purchased for our first stay at Boardwalk. We normally stay at POFQ but wanted to try a Deluxe resort this time. We are beyond excited but I am wondering when I can make room requests and what I should be requesting. We are in a Boardwalk Villa-Deluxe Studio-Standard View. Can we request a view of Epcot or Hollywood Studios and can we get the top floor? What would you recommend to request?

I am sorry if this has been answered before but I tried my best to search and didn't find much.

For standard view, you will be facing the driveway or the far end toward Hollywood Studios.. but those are the farthest walk just so you are aware.

You can request far end facing DHS and see (and hear) a lot of Fantasmic. I suggest a lower floor though as you may want to use the stairs to get to the bus stop or leisure pool.

For rooms facing the driveway I suggest a higher floor, and you will get a view of some of the fireworks from EPCOT.

Hey folks, just returned from a 10 day stay at BWV and wanted to report something about bus service that has been mentioned around the boards but here is my direct experience from BWV last week.

From morning until 2pm, the Downtown Disney Bus also stops at Typhoon lagoon and the route is terribly long. The bus trip in either direction can be 45 to 60 minutes with waiting time now.

Wait until after 2pm, when there is an "EPCOT" bus that also takes TL people. Then, the DTD bus goes straight to DTD and is a much shorter ride both ways, except of course you have to stop at S,D,Y,B before Boardwalk coming back.. or walk from Swan.

anyone else having wifi issues with in-room wifi at the boardwalk villas this week? Been here whole week and the wifi is almost useless. Keeps disconnecting and when connected, it's so slow that its almost useless. Never had wifi prblem at Saratoga or Bay Lake.

Nope. At least, it hasn't for us and we are going on more than a dozen trips. If I won the lotto, I would move into Golden Oak and be at WDW daily.

Here now, and I loathe their WiFi, I shut it off and I'm able to do much more quickly on my own service which is ATT.

Yes, it was frustrating me all last week, especially since I had a room next to the main pool. I think the people around the pool find the general SSID overloaded and switch to the room SSID, overloading that one too. I wanted to be down closer to the Leisure Pool but did not get our request.

It froze up and I had to disconnected/reconnect a lot. Looked connected but was "dead".

I am staying at BWV for the first time at the end of October (24-29) :cheer2: in a 1 BR villa and I have a few questions as I've never staid in a villa nor at BW. :confused3

My first question deals with mouse-keeping - since we are paying to stay in a villa (not renting nor are we vacation members) do we not get every day mouse-keeping? Only the first and fourth day?

Second is in regards to the sleeper sofa - there will be two adults sleep on it. Is it comfortable after long days in the park or should I look into getting a air mattress to place on the 'bed'?

Thanks!!

Hi,
Can someone help? We are staying at BWI for the first time for the Marathon this January. I booked 3 standard rooms. I thought I read somewhere that some of the standard rooms on the higher floors can see Illuminations, and the Eiffel tower. I am going to take a shot on a room request when I do the online checking.

also (I am asking a lot) My mother has knee issues, so she would not want to have a terribly far walk from the lobby)

What should I request?
TIA!!!:wave2:
