Closed Contract...Email and Letter Timeline?

So I just closed and my deed posted to the OC website today. My title company said 7-10 business days until I get my points.

I have read that some people got an email with member number and activation info prior to the letters in the mail.

Does everyone get this? Do they get my email address from the broker? How long did it take everyone from their deed posting to getting points and being able to reserve?

Ours closed on June 28. I checked the OC website on July 1 and the deed was registered. I received my letter and membership number on July 13. Unfortunately, I didn't bring the mail in until the evening so I had to wait until the next morning to book my trip. :)

I hope this helps. I posted this same question when mine closed because I was SO EXCITED and eager to know how quickly we could book our trip. I was really disappointed in the lack of replies. I'm guessing the question has been posed a time or two already and people are tired of replying. In my own defense, I searched and searched to try to find my own answer before I posted the question.

Actually, the timeline has changed a bit. Up until about six months ago, you could call Member Administration about 7-10 days after your deed was recorded to see if your contract was in Disney's system. They changed their policy and now tell most people they have to wait until they get their membership number via snail mail before they can access their account and make reservations.

So the crickets you hear may not be people being tired of answering the same question. There just may be fewer people who bought recently enough to answer your question properly. Going by what others have posted, it can take 1-3 weeks to get your member number in the mail. Good luck!

You might also want to check this thread, which goes into how to add a password to your account via fax. Several people have told me that it worked for them. Several other people have said that if your title company forwards a Social Security Number with your deed paperwork when they send it to Disney, it will get added to your account and you will be able to use it to authenticate over the phone, which will allow them to give you your member number and help you get your online account set up.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I think one of the reasons you might not have many responses is because the title of this thread starts with "Closed". (At first, I thought it was a thread the moderators had closed. :lmao:)

I don't have any information as to how long it takes to get the membership info because I haven't purchased a resale. I did sell some points which closed on 7/2/2013 and it looked like the points were loaded onto to the buyer's account on or about 7/15/2013. But, I don't know what happens after that. :confused3
