Just curious and hoping someone might be able to provide an answer (or attempt)...
We are close to closing on a DVC membership. Any chance there might be a studio open for the first weekend in June or will things most likely be booked solid?

I think you will find something, especially if you don't have your heart set on a particular resort.

In your favor - weekends tend to book up more slowly than the weekdays (due to higher point costs) and the first part of June is a bit slower than the rest of June (many schools are still in session).

Not in your favor - studios book up more quickly than 1 bedrooms (but those are very nice. You might consider taking one of those if the studio you want isn't available) and June is coming up very soon.

But again, I think you can find something. Don't be afraid to waitlist.

Congratulations and welcome home!

Thank you.
I am trying to be patient...I know it takes more time for a resale contract to go through the steps needed in order to be entered into the system. I hope I am able to grab a studio for that weekend. Is there a limit to the number of times a person is able to waitlist?
Thanks again.

Hello,

We closed last April and we got a room (not in June) early July. It was AKL Kidani (Savannah View) Studio.

I think that you will get something. My guide called with me on 3 way and we got what we wanted - the day after everything went through.

I do not know if that is the norm, but it worked. Of course, I had a reservation and cancelled that same day :goodvibes

Best of luck to you. :woohoo:

You are limited to two active waitlists per use year.

Each booking category counts as a separate waitlist.

Thus, for example, you can't waitlist "Animal Kingdom"...you have to first choose between Kidani & Jambo, and then between std, value & savannah...

You also cannot do day-by-day...so if you want to waitlist a full week in the same room, you have to do the full week--you can't break it up into shorter segments.

It's easier at SSR--no booking categories there. I don't think there are any booking categories at Wilderness Lodge either. But Beach Club had one "extra" category (two queens in dedicated two-bedroom); BWV has standard view, preferred view, and boardwalk view. OKW has Hospitality House as a separate booking category. BLT has MK view, lake view and standard view. (There may be more I'm forgetting.)

So, waitlisting is MUCH more restricted than it used to be.

Good luck!

I think you'd be able to find something. Our pts were in the system last week on our recent purchase and I was able to book a full week at the end of June for FOUR studios at AKV.

The first weekend in June includes Gay Days, so studios may be in limited quantities or completely booked.

Well, I guess we can keep our fingers crossed and that is about it. We still have to officially close and get the points entered and I know that takes some time. Our trip will be for a weekend...this will be the first trip my husband and I are taking without the kids in eight years. We don't really care where we stay, but would like to get a studio.
Thanks to all of you for your feedback.
