I would say go with AoA.
I disagree that the food court has mediocre food. We though there was a large selection of fresh food that was different and a nice change from what we usually see. We were there during Xmas week. The busiest time at WDW. For us, the resort wasn't loud, crowded, or uncomfortable. We were in a LM room and didn't find the bedding uncomfortable. We are
DVC'ers and are use to staying deluxe, and we loved AoA. So much so that we added 3 days to our Aug trip just so we can stay there again.
With your family of 5, that includes teenagers, having the extra bathroom will far out weigh the location of the CR. The extra space of an AoA suite, the seperate bedroom, will all be worth it.
As for transportation, we found it to be great at AoA, and like I said we were there the busiest time of year and we had no issues and never waited for a bus.
I have stayed at the CR (Tower, MK view) and yes the location is great. The resort is ok (we had a lot of issues with our room and I actually vowed to never stay there again lol) the amenities are great too. (We will be staying at BLT in Aug) but for your size family, I would choose more space in the room.
When all else fails and you can't decide on a resort, do a split stay!
