Well I was supposed to book and make my final decision based on my poll, but it was so close! AOA got 11 votes and CR garden wing got 8 votes (AsMu&POR only got a few votes). Can anyone tell me anything that might push me to book one vs the other for our family of 5?

Don't know if this interests you or not, but our family of 5 is thinking of doing AOA for 4 or 5 nights then CR for 2 or 3. That way we get the deluxe, but only the high prices for a few nights.

I would think that having two bathrooms, plus the privacy of your own room (with a door) is a huuuuge bonus. Esp with a family of 5!! its nice to be able to shut your door at night while the kids sleep (or while youre trying to sleep!). Dont forget that AoA is fairly new. A bonus!

I posted a poll myself cause i was torn between AoA and Pop. Im leaning more towards AoA now.

CR
Monorail to MK and EP, walk to MK
Huge variety of food and recreation options at resort and at other monorail resorts
Quiet, large room with two comfortable queen beds
Deluxe resort with deluxe amenities

AoA
Bus everywhere
one food court with mediocre food
loud resort, room has one queen bed, really uncomfortable bedding (consider bringing your own pillows and ear plugs to sleep)
value resort with value amenities

I have stayed at 10 onsite resorts, loved them all, except AoA - it was so loud and so uncomfortable I wanted to leave after the first night. I would choose CR in a heartbeat

There are some excellent points here for you to consider. I have to say, taking the monorail over to Epcot & MK is definitely nice. Better than buses! And the bonus is that your right across MK, close enough to walk!

Staying at a deluxe resort with deluxe amenities is definitely a nice thing to have. Also being on the monorail is a bonus. Why dont you ask your family, take a vote. :)

What's more important to you, separate spaces or location?

That's what I keep asking myself everyday..I'm just not sure since we have never stayed in a single hotel room together before, only condos. I'm not sure if we would make it in a room at CR or not, but of course the location is great.

I wish! My family is one of those that doesn't even want to hear about the trip..they just want it all planned out for them! They get tired of me even talking about it, even so I have tried asking them. As usual the only answer I get is from my 8yr old who wants AOA! lol!

I would say go with AoA.

I disagree that the food court has mediocre food. We though there was a large selection of fresh food that was different and a nice change from what we usually see. We were there during Xmas week. The busiest time at WDW. For us, the resort wasn't loud, crowded, or uncomfortable. We were in a LM room and didn't find the bedding uncomfortable. We are DVC'ers and are use to staying deluxe, and we loved AoA. So much so that we added 3 days to our Aug trip just so we can stay there again.

With your family of 5, that includes teenagers, having the extra bathroom will far out weigh the location of the CR. The extra space of an AoA suite, the seperate bedroom, will all be worth it.

As for transportation, we found it to be great at AoA, and like I said we were there the busiest time of year and we had no issues and never waited for a bus.

I have stayed at the CR (Tower, MK view) and yes the location is great. The resort is ok (we had a lot of issues with our room and I actually vowed to never stay there again lol) the amenities are great too. (We will be staying at BLT in Aug) but for your size family, I would choose more space in the room.

When all else fails and you can't decide on a resort, do a split stay! :rotfl2:
