Close but not close enough

Aren't these people from the same countries we had to pull from the jaws of defeat last century?

And the U.S have a great record of winning Wars ( Grenada ) ;)

Yes, my savage beliefs want my countrymen and women home safe and sound where they belong. If that requires ending this conflict by such extreme measures, then so be it. The US operates as legally and morally as it possibly can given the circumstances and all we catch is grief and second guessing.

By the way, that was an interesting reply from someone whos name is taken from a very violent group of men who would think nothing of raping, pillaging and terrorizing anyone and anything they came in contact with.

If you want your countrymen home safe and sound where they belong, why did you send them to Iraq?
The US operating legally:confused: Strange that it didn't make the news over here that you finally obtained authorization from the UN.

Obviously you mixed up Minnesota's football-team with the US-prison-guards in Iraq :teeth:

Yeah and we all know Iraq was part of the civilized world when Saddam was in power, don't we? All Saddam had to do was prove that he got rid of the weapons we know for a fact that he had at one time. He failed to prove that! If he really had nothing, most logical people (and I realize this does not include you) would conclude he'd open his country, prove there was none and he'd have remained in power till his death.

I never stated that Saddam's regime belonged to the civilized world.
And not being considered as a logical person by a political Neanderthal I take as a compliment :p
As soon as Bush and his cronies take action against a country without oil, the world may start believing them. Unfortunately he only has 6 months left for it:teeth:

There's been a few more than that one. In fact, we've won a lot more than we've lost, unlike, say, France.

It's always best to take the battle to the enemy. Iraq was a breeding ground for Islamic terrorism. It's open defiance of the UN set an example for other rogue states. Now it will set an example for other Islamic countries that freedom brings prosperity.

It was called Resolution 1441. Read it. If it didn't authorize it, where is the Resolution condeming our "illegal" action?

Yes but Grenada it by far the best
Yes, it's importance is often overlooked. It was the first time the US took decisive action to prevent communists from taking over a country, and so contributed to the fall of the Soviet Union.

I know that this may be a weird concept for you, but in the civilized world usually you have to prove that a perpetrator is guilty. Nobody has to prove his innocence as everybody is presumed innocent until proven contrarily.

Please cite a precedent, EVER, from wartime, when a trial was held to determine someone was guilty before targeting that person for bombing.

I'll be waiting.

Strange, I don't recall the passage and ratification of an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that requires the U.S. to seek authorization from the UN in order for a military action to be considered legal. Would you care to provide the information on that one?

I'll be waiting.

Sure we're still waiting for you to prove those people killed in Fallujah were terrorists.

:rotfl:

You just don't get it do you? We don't have to prove they were terrorists - they were in a terrorist safe house/hide out, which is of course, a legal target, regardless of who is inside.

Too bad they didn't choose their friends better. Bad choice on their part.

The majority of the 9/11-terrorists came from Saudi Arabia, none came from Iraq. Her you 've got your breeding ground. But you surely mamaged to turn Iraq into the best breeding ground for future islamic terrorists. Seen any news from there lately?
Open defiance of the UN? You're talking of the Bush-Administration, aren't you?

A: I.e. First Gulf War

B: It may come as a surprise to you, but your constitution is not valid outside the USA

Unless you live in France, where the system is guilty until proven innocent.

Actually, it is right. It stopped the Soviets from using the Cubans raising cane in Central America without any repercussions, like when Carter was President. It made it a little more expensive for them, too expensive for them to keep going there.

A war on terrorism isn't just a war on the 9/11 terrorists. As for the breeding ground, it was already there. They are extremely active there now because they are losing. Look at who they are attacking. The last people kidnapped were from a country who doesn't even have any troops in Iraq - Turkey. Their prime targets are people in the government. They don't want the US out of there, because they would lose their edge - and most of their "troops". Yes, I have seen news from there lately.

Your right Viking instead of making things better - they've made them 10 times worse.

A: I.e. First Gulf War

Really? So, prior to every bombing run during that war, a trial was held to determine whether or not the people inside the buildings to be bombed were ALL guilty parties?

That is ridiculous to the extreme...

Nope, no surprise at all. However, our Constitution is the governing document for our country. So long as our actions fall within the dictates of our Constitution, our actions are legal. The rest of the world may not like it, but that's the way it is.

I am so glad you were able to take the question at hand and not really have a response, so rather than ignore it, you revert to name calling. LOL that says a lot for your cause!
