I know several people I've worked with who have no issue with clipping their fingernails (guys and I'm also a guy so not throwing too much shade
) and they have no issue with it.
For me it bothers me. I practically never do it near others, or just if I have a nail that just needs something immediate done to it. I clip them at home or in my car, etc. I hate the sound nail clippers make if someone else is doing it and just seems something not to do near others.
Am I weird or do other people think the same way?

That's crazy - who does that? To me, grooming is a private thing. Would anybody tweeze their eyebrows or buff their heels with a foot file at the office in the presence of co-workers?
I never visited their home without seeing his nail clippers there, ever. When we first got married, DH came out with his clippers and was going to do a full on grooming session in front of the tv. I'm pretty sure he was picking a place of honor for his clippers to sit permanently. I made it pretty clear that the only time it was going to be okay to full on clip his nails in a shared space with me was if we were living in one room (like a hotel room etc.) DH doesn't always get social cues and was brought up with a weird lack of boundaries so I've had to be pretty clear.
Good! Hope he never did that again.
