Seriously. My dad just moved to a retirement apartment, and they sometimes have dress-up dinners. He's been retired for 25 years or so, and can no longer handle tying his own tie. Anyone know of any place that sells them? I found some online stores I've never heard of, but I'd prefer a sticks/bricks store.

Oh and by the way, my college age kid just loosens his knot up and down and removes/puts the tie on. He never reties them. Thank gosh he will be a nurse in scrubs and not in a business setting :rotfl2:

Thanks. Unfortunately, my dad has decided that he likes button down collars, but can't manipulate the buttons. So he didn't think my idea of pre-tying the ties would work. (he is pretty set in his ways, at 90) But I may try the idea of taking an old tie and converting it. Thanks!

Nevermind. . .I should read an entire thread before posting!

I have had luck finding clip-on ties at Goodwill. My DS11 needed one for a costume, so we looked there. They had bunches, many like-new if not actually new.

LOL... my DH does this and he *is* in a business setting.

Also check goodwill / salvation army. Ours has tons of ties and there's always a few cliip ons in the stacks.

My college freshman never could master tying a tie, still has trouble tying his shoes. :rotfl2: So my DH has to tie the ties, and then he does that same as your DS. He's in accouting so he'll always be wearing a tie.
