We are leaving THIS thursday ( may 6 th ) ...staying at boardwalk. We are taking our 11.5 month old...we are first time parents. Having a little anxiety about the plane, the trip, etc. Don't get me wrong, we are so excited but had a quick question. What does anyone think about a clip on fan for stroller. Last 2 times we were in disney was august and may. may was not nearly as hot as august. i have a fan that squirts water (like the ones they sell at the parks) . Should i purchase one that clips to stroller?? should i bring the one i have?? when i turn the fan i have towards my baby girl , she looks away. should i even bother ? what does anyone think? thanks so much! :)

Don't buy the red and black mickey one...complete waste of money!!
Honeslty though, you don't need it. Remember the kid sitting in the stroller isn't exerting any energy and is not as hot as mom pushing him. Plus, they will most likely have a shade.
My kids do love those mister fans though.

I bought a new stroller for my grandson today. When I did that, I was looking at different accessories to take use at WDW.

One of them was the fan. All of the reviews said that they are pretty good for about an hour, but after that the batteries start to weaken and the fan barely puts out a breeze at all.

I decided to pass. If needed, I will use my misty fan on my grandson.

I bought one of those red and black mickey ones - they are so cute. The battery lasted all the way through our tip (maybe still works??). We went in December and had a few hot/humid days (to me anyway), and I would use the little fan when my DD (10 mos at the time) napped and I had covered her stroller with her blanket to keep out the sun - I hung it over the shade, blowing into the stroller to keep the air moving. I thought it worked great for that purpose. As for cooling me off, it was about a 4 out of 10.

Just wanted to give my in put on the fan for the stroller. it is HOT here in florida right now 92 was yesterdays high with the heat index it was over 100!! The strollers get hot in there. I would suggest the mister fan you can also bring a washcloth and put it in a zip lock bag and use it to cool off her face arms and legs. Also use it to wash off that sticky mickey ice cream bar you know you want to get her ;)
Don't forget a hat if they will wear it mine usually dont. Also a brad spectrum sun bloack with SPF 70 is what i just bought and we are gong this weekend for Mothers Day. You could also bring a swim suit and towel and let them run thru Donal Ducks boat and get wet and burn off pent up energy.. just make sure they take off there shoes ( mine forgot last time ):rolleyes1
Also my life saver was a rain cover for the stroller i got it at Babies r us. if you dont have trip insurance i would suggest it the weather has been crazy here ..

We got a really nice battery operated one with foam blades at CVS for $6.00.

We don't go anywhere without our O2 foam fan from CVS, if you buy descent batteries you can get about 8 hours out of it, dollarstore batteries about 4 hours or so. We put one on each side blowing in and in hot august heat of our disney trips its like stroller air conditioning:) A hot baby is a cranky baby, so its well worth it to us!

We love the stroller fans. We bought the Mickey one but found that it doesn't put off much air! We have a small one bought at Walmart a year or so ago and it does work. I occassionally carry my kids in a carrier (it gets really hot like that in the summer at WDW) and I clip the fan onto the strap. That works well too. It is a must for us to have a stroller fan it gets so hot when they sit that long!

I just bought 6 of these online for our disney trips and we are also going to Universal in June. they are fabulous.

we just got back on saturday with our 4 month old. We got a fan before we went and used it EVERY day. It doesnt seem like it blows a lot, but you could tell a big difference in the temperature of his skin when we had it on and didn't. The one we got was about $10 from Babies r us and we only changed the batteries once mid week. We had no less than 10 people a day stop us and ask us where we got it. Same with the extra sun shade we had for him also from babies r us.

Count me in on the "yes" team. We went last August and it was HOT! I had bought a clip on stroller fan from Toys R' Us before we went and we used it everyday. I would clip it to the sunshade on the stroller and have it blow on my DS while he napped in the stroller. I agree with the PP that you will need the rain cover for the stroller too. I can't tell you how many time we went into a show or on a ride and came out to rain. If we had not had the plastic on the stroller it would have been soaked and useless. Have a great time!
