Clint's Wish To See Shamu (and Mickey)

I went from having no ADR's to having about FIVE!!!!

I will explain how that happened later .

I also posted on the DVC board this morning about possibly finding someone with points to loose to rent them cheaply. I explained how I had looked into the All Stars and it was still a little more than I really can afford but that I was staying an extra two days on our trip to visit my Grandpa.

I got a message from one lady saying none of my dates were open. Then I got another one around noon from a very generous man who said that his points would expire soon and he would like to donate them to us *IF* there are any to be had. Then about ten minutes later I received a pm from a moderator that said I posted in the wrong section and they had deleted my thread.

I don't know what to do now.

My family all think I am nuts for getting so excited, making ADR's, room reservations (or lack thereof) and photopass groups. AM I ?? I just want us to have fun AND stick to our budget. I know I am obsessing somewhat but isn't that part of the fun??

I think it is just all of the uncertainty also about not knowing for sure that we have flights and rooms!! I still haven't heard for sure our flight info, I may have to call them again in a minute.

Sorry I am very tired. Got up at four this morning .

I can't believe his Dad fell out with a seizure! OMG!!!!

And how horrible...the whole thing...is just awful.

He sounds like a fighter...which will do him so much good all of his life. You have raised two precious children!

I am so glad that you have family that will help you out.

I am sorry about your separation. It seems like a very large percentage of sick children end up going through that. The stress is just so much on a family. Don't feel the need to share about all of that at all...just wanted you to know that I am sorry about that side of things, too.


I am so excited that you are going on this trip!!!!! It is going to be awesome! And I can't wait to hear all about your ADR's!!!!

OK we officially have flight info!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited. I was really starting to worry that they had forgotten us. We have only seen our MAW lady twice. The first time was when he was first diagnosed about two yrs ago and the second was in March when we had to resign some papers. I finally emailed the main office and got some info . I mean we are leaving in SIXTEEN DAYS!! I NEEDED SOME INFO!!!!

We leave on the ninth and return on the seventeenth of Feb. The two additional days are still on my dime. We will go see my grandpa then.

I also have some sad news. Tricia will no longer be going with us . She is going to stay with her mother. The day we leave was her fathers birthday and on the thirteenth is a year since he died unexpectedly. We thought she would be able to go but now it looks like she wants to be with her mother and sister. We will be sad but we completely understand. I would want to be with my mother also.

So now it will be me, the kids and my mother.

I have made several ADR's which are top secret~~ The first one is for Crystal Palace. I made this one for Meg. She has always had a big thing for Eeyore and when I learned they make an appearance there I had to book it for her. Plus I have always seen a line there and wondered what the fuss was about. Now we will get to see!!! SSSSHHHH it's a surprise!!

I also made a 50's Diner (forget the name now) reservation for my mom. She will love it from what I have read on here. Her birthday was Monday so it seems fitting that she gets a surprise too.!!!

When I was making Clint's for the Shamu one on his birthday we were looking online together. As soon as he saw "Sharks Underwater Grill" it was over. He is really excited about it!!! Not a surprise but I know he will love it. I called and they only take reservations the day of at the podium in front of it so we will have to get there early!!

I also made one at the Rainforest Grill the day we will be at AK. Both of the kids and myself are animal crazy and I know we will all love it.

The last one I made (Clint heard me on the phone but has no idea what it looks like) was for T-Rex in downtown Disney. Perfect for a kid who as I type is watching Jurassic Park for the three thousandth time.

So those are our ADR's. We have also received some Big Give packages!!! They are fantastic and the kids are LOVING it!! So I am going to try to get at least one up tonight and some more tomorrow. I am not used to working regular hours and my new job is wearing me out even though I am still in orientation!!!

The other day we got a BIG GIVE package !!

It was addressed to Megan but Clint was also very excited for her . Also making an appearance is Barbie our chihuahua. She is about eight and always seems to end up in most of our pictures!!

She opened it with the help of her teeth :

Megan was pretty excited too when she saw her own custom made Pooh bear shirt:

We appreciate it so much. This will be perfect for her to wear to MK on the day of our reservation at Crystal Palace!!!

ANOTHER BIG GIVE PACKAGE::

Of course Megan was piddling around and Clint was getting excited but waiting patiently for her arrival to open the new package:

I opened it almost all the way across to help it go faster when she did get there….

Now he is fed up and TIRED of waiting….(Drama King)…

Megan also got a roll up for colored pencils. I didn’t get a real good shot of it but it has Eeyore on it and she loves it. Here she is with all of her stuff…

They loved all of it!!! It was great. I wouldn’t let them play with it. All of their stuff I am saving for the trip. They have been wanting to wear the stuff they got from their other packages too but I told them they have to wait. Only seventeen more days….

YAY !!!!!!

Thanks so much Glenda. It was very thoughtful of you. The kids and I are already trying to come up with stuff we can do to help the Big Give!!

I love the shark crayon roll up! What adorable fabric placed perfectly! I am sure they'll enjoy all their new goodies for the trip!

Megan and I were very excited when we saw a small package addressed to the “ladies in the Childs Family”. We had no idea what could be in that envelope!!

How in the heck did she get this thing sealed so good??

Megan is reading the letter first like a good girl and I am checking out the goods!!

I was the most excited about this one cuz when you are a little on the fluffy side it is hard to find fluffy sized jewelry. Mine fits GREAT!! We love them. We all wanted to wear them but I had to resist temptation (and Mammy and Meg) and save them for our trip!!

Just kidding ... I just wanted to let you all know we have gotten some more packages and I will get them up soon!

Our MAW coordinator called and said she just realized how early we are leaving (flight at 8am, 2 hours early, and 2 hrs to airport). So she got us a room in New Orleans the night before so we can just wake up and shuttle over to the airport. I thought that was so fantastic. I was just planning on leaving home around three or four!! I love MAW!!!!
