LOVE LOVE adam, he will always be the best AI performer to me ever- but I love Kris too, and was happy no matter who won (altho I woulda preferred Adam! ). I think they are both gonna be great, no matter what...I think AI needed Adam to win more than he needed to win, if that makes sense. And all I have to say about the finale....WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! QUEEN...QUEEN was on AI!! The whole show was amazing, best finale EVER!!

Loved the finale minus the last 10 minutes. I will admit that I was and am an Adam fan. Liked Kris but can't see myself buying any of his stuff. I've already spent enough money on iTunes to buy an Adam album.

I am honestly stunned though....the judges were crazy in love with Adam, to the point of nausea...but the Gokey vote pushed Kris through!

I'm a little bummed that Adam didn't win, but I think Kris is also good so at least he didn't lose to someone with little/no talent. And on the plus side, Adam will never have to sing that awful "no boundaries" song ever again!

However, I think it does take some of the credibility (if it had any) from AI. Kris is talented and good, but he really isn't super-star material. I'm sure he'll have a good career but he isn't going to be someone we are telling our grandkids that we actually saw him start out on AI (sort of like my parents memories of watching Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show)

Kris will probably be better at the mandatory Idol stuff and actually enjoy it. I'm sure Adam would have done it well & with grace, but he probably wouldn't have liked it much.

Oh just a quick comment on Adam's singing. His control and range are amazing. My DH & I (and my mom) sing oratorio choir music. DH and I have been amazed by Adam's singing. It really isn't a "scream" when it is on pitch and perfectly in the key you're singing. (What Gokey did is a SCREAM!) The thing he does with his tongue is actually a vocal technique - it just isn't as noticable when people don't have a super close-up camera shooting pictures of their molars Why do the camera people always do that on Idol?

If you would like to hear Adam singing something totally straight (no "scream" at all) try googling for Adam Lambert and "The Prayer". He performed this at a remembrance ceremony for the slain Isreali leader (I have forgotten his name) and it is beautiful.

I am thrilled Kris won!

Adam was a little too over the top for me. He does have a good voice, a VERY good voice- if he would just not "scream" in EVERY song- I would have enjoyed him more.

Kris has a terrific voice and presence. I think he will enjoy all that comes with being the AI winner.

I recorded the show so I could fast forward through most of it and get to the winner sooner. I have to tell you- that was an amazing show!! I only skipped the commercials. I sat through every performance and was wowed at each and every "star" that was on the show... I mean Cyndi Lauper, Queen, Rod Stewart, Queen Latifah, wow!! (not a fan of Kiss though... )

Great show! Great season- GREAT new American Idol- Kris Allen!!

Yitzhak Rabin? He was assassinated by a Right Wing Israeli Radical in 1995. To my knowledge he is the only Israeli PM to be assassinated in office.

YEAH KRIS!!! Great day to be an Arkansan!!!!!! Our local Fox station said AT&T announced that 38 million of the nearly 100 million votes actually came from Arkies!!! YEAH!!! I dialed and redialed on my cell for 2 1/2 hrs and only got through 5 times. I personally don't care for Adam's style of singing but I don't think he will be hurting for fans. I hope they put the song out that Kris and Keith Urban sang tonight! Loved it!!!

I really liked Adam, and was hoping he would win. However, even I was growing tired of his screaming. Did he have to do it every song?

I picked Adam out early in the competition and was rooting for him, but the screaming got to be a bit much and he was starting to look like a one trick pony, even though I think he is more talented than that. I was glad to see Kris one, and I think both are going to do pretty well. What amazed me more than anything was how good that finale show was - it wasn't even close to any other AI show ever. It was THAT good - Disney influence at all? I would guess not since it is not like the show jumped to ABC, but they must have someone new in charge. Anyway, I was growing tired of AI, but after last night's finale, I am actually looking forward to another season next January.

We were so happy here that Kris won!!! No doubt about it that Adam has an amazing talent, but like others I just did not care for that style.
