Clermont Area

Hi there. We are renting a pool home neat the Clermont area off of I-4. Is anyone familar with things in that area? Is there a website that has maps of shopping/attractions in that area? A few years ago we rented a pool home off of I-4 but is was south of 192 this one is South of 192.

We plan on doing some shopping for groceries when we get down there. Thanks.

Someone's pulling your leg. If you are south of 192 you aren't in Clermont, you are in Davenport. Clermont ends as you crosee over 192. In fact the ramp from 27 south onto 192 east is in Davenport, Polk county.

I-4 is a good 15+ miles from the town lmits of Clermont, so I'm not sure who you are renting from, but they aren't giving you good info.

If you are looking for attractions in Clermont, there are two--the Citrus Tower on 27 Northbound, about a mile north of route 50, and the US Triathelon Training Center on Route 50 about a mile east of Route 27. Shopping, nto much. Publix grocery stores (four in the town limites), Kohl's, Target, K-Mart, Home Depot all in North Clermont, Wal-Mart in South Clermont, Winn-Dixie in north Clermont, Kash-N-Karry in north Clermont.

Maybe you can find out exactly what town you're renting in as well as the name of the development and I can help a bit more.

Not a bad little community. There is a Super Wal-Mart maybe a mile down teh road towards 192. There's a Winn-Dixie in that area as well, and a CVS. And a Wendy's. There's Simka's Sweets, an ice cream shop that's a great little place across from Wal-mart in Cagan's Crossing. Up route 27 about 14-15 miles is the Citrus Tower. In the base is Santiago's, great Mexican home cooked food at very reasonable prices. ABout a mile towards WDW on route 192 is a Publix in SummerBay. Some other shops there as well, but I shop at the one by my house further north--about 11 miles north of Weston Hills.

I forgot to mention Lake Louisa State park, about 10 miles north of Weston hills. Nice place to visit, I hear great fishing.

I have also found a rental home I am quite interested in at Weston hills. We are planning spending 1 week of our 2 weeks visiting other parts of Florida and Orlando- State parks, lakes, Sarasota and Cocoa beaches. The community does seem a little more upscale than some of the communities in Kissimmee. Its further from the Kissimmee area that I was looking for but DH will be happy knowing there is a Walmart close by.

My subdivision is about a mile from Weston Hills. They have a nice water park/pool area. Our third choice house was in there. Let me know if I can help.

Excellent. I'm happy to hear it's a nice area and has lot's of shopping around. We rented directly from the owner of the house which has been very nice. A few years ago I went down there with my sister. No kids. We rented a home from a company that didn't pick our house until 2 weeks before we left. Even then, we weren't told anything about it until be picked the keys up. The house ended up being beautiful but I don't want to take that risk with two kids. This time, I know exactly the house we have and it's wonderful. Can't wait to see it in person.
