Hotel or motel, that anyone can recommend, do not want to go down the coast prefer to stay at Clearwater as it is a 7 day break taking in Busch Gardens for a couple of visits.

Funny. I started looking into the same today myself. We want to take in a few BG days this October. I'll let you know if I am able to find anything out. I have looked all over the net and read various reviews. Seems every place has complaints.
I was thinking of staying in the Clearwater area. However I don't plan on being in the room enough to warrant the $ near the Gulf. We may just have to do that another trip.
But piggyback on your post in hopes someone has some experience to share about Tampa/Clearwater hotels in general.

Yes not looking for anything to expensive, as like yourself not planning to be there much. Saw one Motel with excellent reviews Echo Sails, but i have a while before i need to book ,as we are not going till next July.
