Hi everyone,
We noticed a few weeks ago on the Hilton website that the hotel was being revamped.
Anyway spoke to Virgin and they said they were unaware.
Today when we got home there was a letter waiting to say that the Hilton was being refurbished and that as first thought it was only the rooms but now it is the reception, pool areas etc.Anyway the letter went on to say that due to this they have arranged for us to go and stay at the Marriot suites which for us is fine, they actually look nicer than the Hilton as we will have extra space:goodvibes and the pool etc looks great I know that the Location isn't directly on the beach but for us thats not a problem as we have a car and to be honest we are only there for 3 days to chill before we go back up to Orlando.
God I am waffling !!!!!!
Anyway we have stayed at the Hilton before so we are really excited about staying somewhere else, especially somewhere that we have looked at staying.
Anyone else get a letter?
If so I hope that it hasn't spoilt your trip if you were hoping to stay in that area and if your O.K. with it .......see you by the pool:thumbsup2

I would be pleased with the change. We stayed at The Hilton the year they took it over from Doubletree, we were so disappointed with it. We felt it was overpriced and small room, Staff were miserable. Walked out of restaurant it was a disgrace for the money, I think it was Friday night, they put on a seafood and beef buffet about $30/head. I put a better selection on at parties I do for 25-30 people.
Maybe it was because they had just taken over but it put us off ever returning. Hope you like the Marriott suites. I have liked every Marriott I have stayed in so far.

I stayed at the Marriot Suites last trip, it is fantastic, much much nicer than the Clearwater Hilton which I have also stayed at.

The hotel rooms have the front doors opening onto an open corridor overlooking the Gulf Coast and the rooms run right through to the rear of the hotel where the rear bedroom has a balcony with chairs and table and a view of the inland waterway. Two waterviews!

We pointed out that we were FVC members on our arrival and the receptionist said he was aware of this and had already upgraded us to the Premier level, which turned out to be the top floor where the views were obviously that little bit better.

We also only had 3 days there but would gladly have stayed longer.

As for the proximity to the beach, its one of those where its too far to walk if you are carrying beach bags etc, but too close to justify driving and paying the parking charge on the car park. Luckily the hotel runs a complimentary shuttle service to the beach whenever anyone needs it using a type of electric golf buggy that seats about 8 people.

I'm sure you will enjoy it.
