Clearwater Beach

So we think we have narrowed it down to Clearwater Beach for a couple nights after WDW this July/August.

Having a hard time deciding between hotels.
Have it narrowed down to Sheraton Sand Key or Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort.
Anyone been to either hotel? Can you give me pros and cons?

FWIW, as far as the CHAIN, I prefer Hilton over Sheraton...

I stay at hotels 3-4 days a week when I am working.

You should also try to do Captain Nemo's Pirate Cruise-- it is great!

Have never stayed at either since I am local but I would check trip advisor. They have not failed me yet.

Sorry, I can't recommend a hotel as I always stay at my parents' house, but just wanted to say.. YES!! Do the pirate cruise!! It's so much fun. The ship is really neat:

And, not to spoil the fun, but you'll come out of it looking like this [my little cousin and my mom]..

ETA: Now that I'm thinking about it, the Hilton is a little bit better as far as location goes. It's RIGHT on Clearwater Beach by the pier. There's a deck back behind the hotel (if I'm remembering this right) and you can walk onto the beach.

I've been to both, but never stayed at either, as I'm a local. Personally I prefer the location of the Sheraton because, aside from the hotel across the street, it's by itself, so the beach is less crowded. If you prefer being closer to the shops and restaurants I'd say go with the Hilton, if you want less crowds go with the Sheraton. You can always hop on the trolley over the Clearwater Beach from the Sheraton too. HTH

The Hilton Clearwater looks really nice and has alot of good reviews on TripAdvisor. I'm interested to know what you decide on.
