Whats the best way to get white canvas shoes looking good?

Can I wash in the washing machine and air dry?

Please let me know how you clean yours. My dd13 has a pair and I told her she can't wear them until the shoes get cleaned. Thanks inadvance

I wash all my sneakers and canvas shoes in the washing machine then air dry. I always wash on cold - not sure if that matters.

Just remember that white shoes will always get dirty and may never get clean. It's justa fact of life and nobody cares if they are dirty except you.... unless she is wearing all white and those are gray with dirt then nobody else will notice.

If they are completely white, toss them in the washing machine with bleach & detergent and air dry. If they have some color on them, just skip the bleach and use just detergent. I like to put a few towels in with them so they don't bang around inside the washing machine.

I'd suggest you skip the bleach -- it can make the rubber turn yellow.

That's what I do, too. The white ones never restore to bright white but they get pretty clean.

And if its not too cold where you live put them out in the sun to dry.

I just wash and air dry, sometimes I do a quick turn in the dryer but I normally just put them out in the sun on the porch.

Many, many moons ago I was not a majorette but several of my friends were. At that time, the glorious tasseled majorette boot had been eschewed for the women's white Keds-style canvas sneaker (think Taylor Swift). A HUGE fashion faux pas in my opinion, but I digress . . . If all else failed, they would use white shoe polish on their canvas sneakers. It does work!

Who in their right mind would choose not to wear majorette boots, if they could????

Yikes-I remember doing my white canvas keds with the white shoe polish! That was definately many moons ago. LOL I can remember sitting at the kitchen table with newspaper spread, opening that bottle with the bulbous cotton ball applicator trying desperately not to get the white polish on the rubber sole trim. Then having to let them sit over night to dry. Those were the days!!!
