What cleaning supplies are provided in Villas? Will I need to bring my own dishwasher and laundry detergent? What are some things you have found useful to have that are not provided? Any input appreciated.

Dishwasher detergent and liquid dish soap are provided. There is laundry soap for one load (Tide), but I usually bring my own there. There will be paper towels and everything else you will need in the kitchen unless you HAVE to have spray cleaner. If you run out of dishwasher detergent or liquid, just call housekeeping, and they will bring you some.

Things I brought on our trip to VB in a 1bdrm this past May were laundry detergent, dryer softener sheets, clorox wipes for the kitchen:scratchin If I think of anything else I'll let ya know but I think that was about it;)

You might want to bring along salt, pepper, and sugar too. I know they aren't cleaning products, but they are something we sometimes forget to bring.

If you do, make sure you get help from Bell Services rather than trying to haul it up yourself.

I thought I overpacked...wow... :rotfl2:

We are staying in a studio at OKW and contemplated bringing our dishwasher, but decided it's much easier to use paper plates!

They provide a sponge in the kitchen for washing dishes. I personally don't care for sponges (some strange aversion I guess), so in my DVC bag that has coffee filters, salt, pepper, and sugar substitutes - I have a dishcloth. Just my own personal preference!

Yup, we just returned from our first visit as dvc members, and I wish I had thought to bring salt & pepper, as well as vinegar (I use this to clean the coffee maker) and butter. We did do a grocery run, but didn't even think of these things. And I thought I was organized.

I bring salt, pepper, sugar, softener sheets, Starbucks coffee.

When we get there we buy breakfast foods, laundry soap (DH is allergic to powdered Tide) room deodorizer spray, half & half. They have paper towels, dish soap and dishwasher soap in the unit, and if you run out, they will bring you more. They give you one box of powdered Tide but if you need more they charge you for it. There is also a mop, broom, dustpan, vacuum, and bucket if you really feel ambitious, but I don't think I've ever actually done anything with them but move them from one closet to another. ;)
