Do you guys clean out your refillable mugs or just rinse them in your room. It kinds grosses me out to just rinse it out. I thought about bringing one of those scrubby things with soap in it but I didn't know if I was allowed to bring that on luggage. Any tips?

we bring along a travel size dish washing liquid and put some in the mug before heading to the station and wash it out in the room.

Or you could use sanitizing wipes to clean the cup out and then rinse it really well to remove the film left over so you are not tasting it later:sick:

At home, I fill a bowl with dish soap and water, enough so it is a little bit soap-ier than regular washing.

Soak some paper towels, then let them air dry. I usually use the select a size, cut in half. Or you could quarter a regular size sheet.

Store in a zip type plastic bag.

At the hotel, simply wet your towels and you have disposable pre-soaked dish towels :goodvibes

?? Soap-ier?? Yeah, I know, not the best grammar, but you get the point!

I just rinse it out when I'm done with it and then, before refilling I first fill it twice with hot tea water. Disney's tea water is so hot, I figure that kills pretty much everything that might stay behind.

I take an old scrubby sponge, pour some dishsoap in it and cute it into 4ths. Then, I let it dry all the way. Stick it in a ziploc and take it to the world. I can use each one a few times.

I do the same thing except I use handi wipes. They dry faster and take up less room. Plus no need to cut them up.

I have taken a small plastic bottle filled with dish soap and used the wash cloth and hand towel in the room to wash and dry. I also like the OP use the HOT water in the food court to rinse the mug when I go to refill..just another step but, I fill that it's cleaner that way.

I just rinse it out with hot water in the room. Of course, I also use the remote without sanitizing it, sit on the bedspread, and walk around barefoot in the room too. I like to live dangerously! :lmao:

I just used the soap provided by the resort and a washcloth! While all soaps are not identical - they are still pretty much the same thing!

Last trip, I was completely content rinsing my mug with hot water between uses. Until the lid somehow got dropped into the toilet.

Needless to say, I'll be packing some dish soap this trip. (I spent the rest of that trip with an open-topped mug, of course!)

I am a dork. I get a 3oz pump bottle (we drive not fly) and I fill it up about 1/4 way w/ dish soap from home. I've noticed the travel size stuff is just as much if not more than the big stuff, and that pump bottle was like $0.50. Then I just use the washcloth in the room for cleaning it. We have to clean our son's sippy cups too, so its a must have for us.

I just run it through the dishwasher.

Love my DVC.

wonder if how do you sterilize your utensils because just putting them in a hot water is useless you have to boil them to kill the tiny microbes
