Cleaning pennies for penny press

I remember reading this a while back, but can't find it now that I need it. I have a bag full of pre 1982 pennies that are in desperate need of cleaning. What are your suggestions in cleaning these? Thanks so much!!

My co-worker taught me this trick, use an eraser from a pencil or just a single eraser, it cleans it right up!

TARN-X!!!!

Fill a plastic cup with tarn-x, drop the pennies in for about 30 seconds, rinse them thoroughly with cold water and dry immediately. They will look good as new without much effort!

Rinse them very well for at least a minute or the tarn-x will continue to eat away at the penny.

I did this with all my pressed pennies AFTER I had them pressed and they look great! Some of the pennies were VERY tarnished when I pressed them, but now look good as new!

wondering if anyone knows where the penny presses are in wdw. My kids collect them & would like to get the different ones from the world. Thanks for the help b/c I know someone will know the answer to this, seems you guys know everything.

Mix some lemon juice and salt together and drop the pennies in. It will clean them right up.

Here's a website that lists all the penny presses at WDW. I have found the penny press locations in these lists to be very accurate although the actual press images do change from time to time and may not be fully accurate on the website.

Also, if your kids get hooked like mine did, plan on having a few rolls of quarters and a couple of rolls of pennies onhand....... So far we have over 150 pressed pennies and quarters from WDW!!!!
