Cleaning laminate hard wood floors

I bought a home a little over a year ago, and am pretty sure the floors are laminate hard wood, but not 100% sure. I have been using Orange Glo for over a year and noticed a sticky film on it. What can I use to clean it off and bring back it's shine? I read online to use vinegar and warm water and that did nothing. Any other suggestions?????

I just use a good steam mop. I have not found anything else that I am happy with.

They can either be laminate or hardwood but not both. Water with a bit of vinegar and a microfiber mop is a good way to go. Just make sure you don't get the floor too wet.

I have laminate flooring in my condo...we use a microfiber mop (that is what the flooring guy told me to use)

I just use a good steam mop. I have not found anything else that I am happy with.

ITA. I have laminate in my kitchen and I love my steam mop for it. Everything I used before it left it streaked and if I spot cleaned with anything it left it stcky in that spot.
OP, you can find a steam mop reasonably priced and it will pay for itself because you don't use any cleaners, just water. I got mine for about $60 on Amazon.

Walmart has one for around $60 also. I'm getting laminate floors put in throughout our house this summer and I've been told a steam mop is the way to go, especially if you have kids!

WVMomof3 Steam mops are good as long as they don't leave a water trail. Standing water on either laminate or hard wood is disaster it will ruin the floor.

I have a Shark steam pocket and there is no water left on the floor. I have dogs and a big kid. That mop has saved all of them many a night out in the garage.

Are they laminate or engineered wood? There's a big difference in caring for them. Laminates need only steam or microfiber. Engineered wood gets cared for the same as hardwood.

I have laminate floor in the basement, hardwood on the main floor. I use a steam mop on both.

I have a Shark steam mop that I use on my laminate floor in the kitchen and family room. Before I had used a Swiffer but the cleaner left a terrible residue. The Shark just uses water and leaves the floors with no residue.

Be careful with the steam mop. I have Bruce hardwood and Bruce Laminate in my home and bought the steam mop and was so hopeful for it. I called Bruce to ask and was told DO NOT use steam mop b/c laminate is merely an image - meaning the wood gain is an image and with use will destroy the floors. not good are true hardwoods either and I do forget the reason for it....At the time of purchase i was more interested in the laminate in my kitchen as being my headache. I simply just use the Bruce stuff in a green squeeze bottle and wet mop every couple of weeks.....I use swifter vac otherwise with no cleaner...
