Cleanest Place to Stay in Anaheim

I will pay extra if its clean, anyone have an opinion on the cleanest hotel by Disneyland?
This is really harder than it sounds. Any one that I suggest is perfect, someone will come along with a bad experience and vice versa. Every hotel/motel has had good and bad.

For us, in no order-
Disneyland Hotel
Candy Cane
Hilton
Crowne Plaza
Grand Californian

I'm very picky about hotel room cleanliness. We stayed at candy cane at the beginning of the month. I was pretty impressed. I will definatly stay there again.

I had to look under the bed, at the Candy Cane last Sept 2012... in search of a Flip Flop, it was pretty darn clean! :lmao:

I throw in my vote for the Ayres hotel in Anaheim. It is the highest rated hotel in Anaheim according to tripadvisor.com.

Cleanest at what price? There are lots of clean hotels, but the prices are all over the place. To be the surest I'd stay at a major.... Marriott, Hilton, Disney, Ayres, Hyatt, etc.

Except the Ayres is a family owned hotel and their service is over and above. I have stayed at all of them and although it is a distance away it is our hotel of choice.

Another mention for Ayres. We've stayed at both Ayres Orange and Anaheim. I thought they were immaculate. Of course having very comfy beds and pillows didn't hurt nor did the free hot breakfast and happy hour at supper.

Plus their staff! I thought they were great!

I'd love to try the Ayres but we're pretty set on walking distance hotels. Maybe if I ever went down to watch the Sharks play the Ducks.

Well, the Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian are the cleanest hotels we've stayed at "next to" Disneyland so yes, you'll have to pay extra. :rotfl2:
Crowne Plaza Anaheim/Garden Grove is extremely clean, in line with the property hotels if not more so. There is a shuttle to DL every half hour so it is very convenient. It's relatively inexpensive and though it has a $16 resort fee (after taxes) they allow you to park for free as long as you like on checkout day.

Best Western Park Place Inn is probably the same price, and not quite as clean; BW Anaheim Inn is hit or miss with housekeeping but never encountered anything gross. Both of these motels seem to be following HoJo's lead though and are overpriced considering the lack of amenities and tight (and $10) parking.

I am a ridiculous germaphobe though so I'm never totally comfortable; I pack Clorox wipes and a travel size Lysol no matter where I stay; I wipe/spray all hard surfaces upon arrival and when we return after housekeeping has visited.

I am very picky too, and I find only the on site hotels live up to my standards. And if there is something ever wrong, DLR hotels are always there to fix or remedy the issue. Our favorite is PPH. They recently redid the floors with new carpets and new linens. They also redid the pool area last Sept, and completely repainted the exterior. GCH is a close second, but it's slowly starting to show age. The DLH is very new, very clean. But we just didn't like the hotel itself.

The Ayres Orange had a shuttle direct to the parks, at least it did a few years ago. Ayres on Katella has the ART stop right out front.
The one on Katella is great if you're going to watch the Angels or the Ducks. It's right in the middle of the two.

Wes stayed at Fairfield Inn, it's no frills but was very clean ;)

I will not hesitate to stay there again :thumbsup2

Are the Marriotts and Hiltons not families too? I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency, Anaheim Hilton, Hilton Suites, Anaheim Marriott, Residence Inn Maingate and the Ayres.... each one has its strong points and weak points. Ayres weak point is the distance from the parks; the convention center Marriott & Hilton's weak point is they are big convention hotels. Hyatt is a long ways as is the Hilton Suites and the RI is a longish walk too.

Both Marriott and Hilton are far from being family run hotels. Both are owned by investors now. I think the issue may be grouping in Ayres and calling them a "major". The Ayres seems more like it belongs in the botique classification since you get a more personal experience compared to the somewhat cold corporate feeling at one of the other majors you listed.

To me, the issue with all of these places is the distance. I'm just not a fan of shuttles, cabs, buses, or driving to a distant parking lot.

The Candy Cane Inn is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed it. The maintenance is immaculate. The parking lots at the Candy Cane Inn are probably cleaner than most people's kitchen countertops.

We found the Fairfield to be exceptionally clean. My son has severe asthma and allergies and is *extremely* sensitive to his surroundings; he didn't have to use his medications even once! That tells me that this place is not only clean to the naked eye, but it's truly, actually clean. I would not hesitate to stay here again, and was greatly disappointed that all the rooms through Last Minute Travel Club were sold out by the time I was ready to book my trip this weekend. (since we are not traveling with our kids this time, I opted to book Stovalls since it was still available at a great price- hopefully I won't be disappointed!)
